For some reason today I am missing bread. Not just any old bread, but a good bakery bread with a chewy crust. I know I will probably never be able to tolerate this again, but am wondering if I can find something to kill this craving. I read on another site a recipe for cottage cheese crepes, has anyone ever tried this? I am sure that by tomorrow I will forget this craving, so I guess I will go to bed!

SORRY YOUR battling a craving... i mean for me i do eat the bread now and then but i make sure when i doo that its a multi grain bread that is loaded with fiber. ITS all about moderation and good choices hugs i was more careful though with such my first 12 months but now in moderation for me but im over 2 years out. AND I HAVE LEARNED to many carbs are evil to me

OH Courtneey.....me & bread had a thing...a real relationship, yanno? Like yeast risen hot baked rolls, smothered in butter. Or biscuits, layered in sausage gravy. See, bread & I made a pact.....as long as I would eat it, it agreed to keep me comfortably cushioned against the elements.....you cannot IMAGINE how I miss bread. I pulled out of the relationship and NEVER EVEN TOLD bread. Someday....one day....I shall sit bread down and have a talk with it....but not this day......this day....I WILL SUCCEED!!!!! |

oh my gosh!! i hear all of you, BREAD, what a wonderful word. haha though i do eat it in moderation once in a while, just to kill the craving. But it does sit heavy, fills me up and makes me hungry later, not a good choice. But like Fr1endly2 said, it is all about moderation. We all need to learn that new food lifestyle, the one i obviously didn't have before the WLS.

for me in this case it isnt a moderation issue. i just cant tolerate it anymore which bums me out. i might be happy if i could "sneak" a scooped out bagel or something bready every now and then....but it just doesnt sit right for me anymore |

I've had wheat bread, corn bread (crusty), sourdough (just the crust) -- if the bread is whole grain and doesn't have too much sugar, why don't you just try the crusty part and see how the pouch likes it? I can never eat too much bread -- but even that little bit I do have is satisfying.
