Default Eating out a lot lately

We have been eating out a lot lately because we go to A nearby city about 30 miles away to see a friend in the hospital (2 wks today) everyday. So we have gone to "Furrs" cafeteria. I eat fish and carrot & raisin salad (about 4 bites & a green veggie but only about 4-6 bites.. We eat at Taco Bell. I eat 2 tacos. At airy Queen I eat a Jr Burger with only 1 bread side. Sometimes when we get home I just wrap a flour tortilla around 4 oz of cheddar cheese and nuke it. I drink my shake every morning. I also eat grapes, canteloupe, & strawberries. Ifeel like I am cheating but I am still losing about 2 lbs a week. Am I bad or is this OK? Mattie

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

We have always gone out to dinner 2-3 nights a week. Somehow, it is not near as enjoyable anymore!LOL I usually have a couple of bite of a chicken quesidilia(sp) or fish and some cottage cheese. The problem I have is finding some place that everyone agrees on!

I think as long as you are happy with your weight loss, what you are eating is fine. I can't imagine being able to eat two tacos, but I am not as far out as you. It would make me yak! LOL

Taco Bell beef made me dump....and I can't imagine eating 1/2 a hamburger bun....but if it works for you and you are still losing, there ya go! I wish we had a Furrs nearby...they always have great veggies!

One thing I have been doing is checking websites for nutrition charts. Read these and you won't eat at ANY fast food places ever again (Jack in the Box ULTIMATE cheeseburger has 77 grams of fat!!!!!!!!!) Watch the carrot/raisin salad....If I remember right, Chik Fil A's carrot/raisin or cole slaw has a lot of fat (it could be the dressing they use).

That's the problem I've found with eating out...lots of hidden stuff!!

You know it is kind of weird. Like we talked about before. Some days I can only eat one taco. Strange. It is only in the last 2 weeks that I could eat the tacos. I seem to be able to eat more variety now. I could not even eat fish or hamburger patties before either. I lived on cheeses and shakes.
I did ask at Furrs about the carrot salad and they said they do not use sugar. Pineapple or raisins and carrots. We all live and learn. Mattie

Well Like Doc Had Said A While Ago, As Long As It Is Done In Moderation And It Is All Controlled You Should Be Fine. I Mean I Wouldnt Make A Habit Of Fast Food But If You Are Still Losing Then You Are Doing Fine Hun. Even Though They Dont Add Sugar To The Carrot And Rasin Salad It Sure Has Alot Of Natural Sugar So Be Very Careful. Yeah And Id Be Lucky If I Ate Half A Taco. Lol

I Think Your Doing Great Just Be Careful When Your Out

Yeah, I remember those Jack in the Box Ultimate Cheeseburgers -- they were one of my FAVORITES! Kinda amazing isn't it -- but boy what a way to go!

I have to eat out a lot due to work and business travel -- like yesterday, I had a cup of seafood bisque and some of the salmon from a salad. I just feel guilty because I can't eat as much anymore! My favorite resturant before surgery was a Chinese/Sushi Buffet we used to go to. I could have all the sushi I wanted (and believe me that was A LOT!). My husband and I went out to eat Friday before the movie and all I could have was four little pcs of sashimi. But I did save room for some popcorn!

I just watch my calories and don't eat anything I think will make me ill. You should be fine.

I cannot eat Mexican food anymore, I dump from the grease. You know when you get that taco and pick it up and it starts dripping down your arm. Those are the best, but I dump every time. Even the Tamale Pie I always ordered, (Which is two tamales covered in chilli) make me dump. So I know too stay away from them.

I'm with Boots, raisins especially have a lot of sugar, but if you can handle it, and you are still losing, great, I wish I could eat two tacos too!
