 |  Probably more than you wanted to know...
By now, a lot of you have seen the picture from my wedding last summer. My husband was God-sent, and he loves me unconditionally.
My first husband & I were married 14 years...together 17. Now, keep in mind, I was never a little thing. My first wedding dress was a 20 and built mainly around my boobs. We had 2 beautiful children, but after 12 years of marriage, he told me one day that I disgusted him. He was no longer physically attracted to me, and we slept in separate bedrooms for the last 2 years we were in the same house.
I made the decision and left him...took the kids and got my own place. I later met my current husband (we were friends a long time, then one thing after another, we wound up together...I've known him over 10 years). He loved every ounce of me....come hell or high water. I got really comfy with him, but underneath, I was always insecure that he would want someone prettier...someone smaller...though he NEVER said a word about my weight.
When I told him I wanted the surgery, and what would he do when I got hot? He said "baby, you are hot now....I didn't marry you for your body...there are thousands of women out there with model looks, but none of them have your humor, your zest for life, and your love for me."
That alone nearly made me NOT do it...but since surgery, he is SO very proud of me and for me! He even said it was time to start saving for round 2, in the event I want plastics to fix any "problem" areas. H
He as been my rock...and supported me COMPLETELY through all of this. When we go out to eat, he is considerate of what I can or can't eat. At home, he works around the diet issues and has taken time out to learn my limitations. He worries it's coming off too fast, but he said he's already noticed a difference in my attitude...and said I seem less stressed!
This journey has truly been a blessing and a dream come true....I still pinch myself every day!

 Stories like these make me realize how much I NEED that in my life. I'm so happy for anyone who has such a wonderful gift from God like that. And it gives me the strength to push forward and know that there IS someone out there for me. Who will love me unconditionally. I just have to find him. I truly am so happy for you. My husband was/is (still married but separated) such an azz. He never wanted me to be on a diet and totally tried to discourage me anytime I would be on one. But, it was "control" issues with him. Then the jealousy would be 10 times worse when I would lose a little weight.

I had to join in as my story is sooo parallel to yours Kath. I was married 28 yrs and struggled and stayed strong for him thru the whole Viet Nam thing and how much he drank when he came home. Waited for 6 years to have kids and ended up having 2 boys 5 yrs apart. I was a size 1 when we got married and with the stress and eating habits gained 150 lbs over the 28 yrs. He would hate it when I lost and always said he loved me the way I was. Horse poo. Then to have him leave ME for someone he worked with. I was alone for 8 years. Dated but that was just a process of ups and downs. I had been praying to God "If there is man out there for me please let us find each other" and we did. He fell for me when I was the biggest I have ever been and has been so supportive. I want to make him so proud of me and give him the ME that was wasted on someone else. AND Now it's happening. I guess we all have our story. Didn't want to write a novel, but hell I'm old so there is a lot to tell. Chilly, your day and dream will happen when you least expect it. I wish I could clone him or he had brothers...I would send chilly and Kenya one just like him!!! If you look at that pic I posted, he had hair down (nearly) to his tush!!
By the way....I wasn't looking, was content to be single mom (being alone was TEN times better than the toxic environment I was in...it all really ended when the EX tried to throw me through a wall IN FRONT OF MY KIDS...thank God I was heavy..he couldn't hoist me as hard as he wanted!!)
(current hubby is a redneck from Houston girls, but that cowboy thing is ONE HECK OF A TURN ON FOR ME, MA'AM!!!!) LOVE HAPPENS WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT!!!
