Default Ideas???

So I had my 2nd follow-up with my surgeon...he also did my WLS ..Well to say the least he is not happy with me. According to his scale I am at 138lbs, I thought for sure I was the same if not a little more then my last appointment in September 141lbs. He asked if I was eating??? I kinda looked at him dumb founded, because it seems like all I do is eat or think about the next thing I am going to eat. I feel like I think more about food now then before my WLS (guess that was my problem). I told him everything that I am eating, going out to eat and the fact that my 6yr old and my hubby have gained 10lbs each (Riley my son was due for a growth spurt gained 10 and grew 3 inches in two months) Doc was even kinda pressuring hubby...asking if I was really eating or not. So he wanted me to add an ice cream malt with protein once a day. I can not due ice cream milk bothers my pouchy...so instead I have to add a shake that has at least 600 calories and 100 grams of protein, with fruit surgars and not guclose. He says I should be eating at least 1400 calories a day, I bet my eyes about popped out of my head. I went and bought a blender, honey and some frozen fruits..anyone have a good shake ideas, I use the whey not taste protein. I also asked about going back to work and he kinda laughed and said I have to be at 148-150 before I can go back, I almost cried, I really really miss my co-workers and most of all my kids and their parents ( I am the assistant director of a child care center). Thankfully we are ok with out my paycheck, but its hard. We were looking at the wonderful "Ideal Weight Chart" (hahahaha) and I am like 2lbs from UNDERWEIGHT...its amazing to me to even have been just obese before and I was well over that right before surgery. So tommorow I start working on 1400 calories.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well, um, 1400 kcal is a reasonable maintenance calorie, there's no way you can gain on that unless you are something quite under 5' tall.
((((HUGS)))) You're doiing well, and on the maintenance phase now.

you are doing FINE...

wth? ice cream malt..geez..what IS he thinking.

it is SO normal for everyone to go really low then go up and settle out. It's just an ongoing 'concern from doc's ' that I've seen all the past 6.5 yrs I've been online and participated in wls groups.

you are so NOT the only one that has ever posted this and you are not the only one whose doc has 'expressed this concern'...don't get caught up in that worry!

You are doing great!

I swear it's like sometimes these docs that do the surgeries don't understand that sometimes underneath all the fat is a very small tiny woman!!!
