Default Did I really have surgery?

Some days I wonder if the doc really did anything to me! LOL I have never gotten the "foamies", have never dumped, pretty much everything goes down okay, (only one time chicken got stuck and I yakked), I can gulp water, and I never really feel over full! I guess this is a good thing, but when i read everyone elses issues, I wonder why I don't feel the same.

Today I had a salad for the first time. (my doc said anything is okay now). I was a bit apprehensive, as several people have said they had problems with it. I had about 3/4 cup of prepackaged salad with a bunch of mozzerella cheese and some of the last of the season's fresh tomatoes (yum-Yum!!) with just a drizzle of poppyseed dressing. It was the best thing I have ever tasted in my life, I swear!! Then I sat back and waited for the icky feeling to come, .......nope, never happened!~ I am ecstatic that it didn't, but I do wonder why nothing bothers my pouch.

My doc says not to measure things, to eat just until I am satisfied. He doesn't want me to count calories at this point, just concentrate on getting my protein and fluids in. I usually can eat close to a cup of cottage cheese with several strawberries with no problem for one meals........except the berries don't do their "magic" on me. Then I will have a 6oz container of yogurt for another meal and usually an Instant Breakfast for breakfast. Sometimes for a snack I will have sugar free fudgecicles. That's it, almost everyday I eat the same thing and I have been stuck at this weight for 3 weeks. I walk a mile or so a day on the treadmill and sometimes do some free weights. I just don't get why I am stuck. Hell, I used to eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream everynight, you would think just not having that would make me loose this much weight!~! I am getting very frustrated. And no.........I don't seem to be losing inches either!~! AAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Ok, I think I feel better dumping my feelings on here. I am getting so discouraged. I am going to Las Vegas next week and thought I would be thinner than this by then. whine< whiNE,WHINE I feel like I paid $35,000 cash for nothing~!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Well, ah, you've lost quite some weight. Isn't that proof enough that you've had the surgery?

Dont worry, you are doing fine. We have all felt that something wasnt working right because of the stalls. It will start back up. My biggest thing is the inches. When I know that the scales are not moving, I still have to try on clothes because mine are getting too big on me. Good Luck.

I can't tell you how many times I've said the same things along the way. Our bodies need time to rest in between periods of losing because we are losing so quickly and things are rapidly changing in our bodies.

Almost everyone hits a stall somewhere in months 3-4. You are right, you eat much less than before. It HAS to come off. Just sometimes our bodies do it much more slowly than we would like.

Hang in there. It will happen!

well, if you are not convinced by the weightloss, try to eat like you did pre-op. THAT will reassure you that you had surgery

you are doing great. sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!!!

Courtney; I think we are all different in our experiences, but one thing is the same -- we are all losing weight. Weight that was near IMPOSSIBLE for us to lose BEFORE our surgery. I think its great you never had the foamies. I've never dumped and don't want to -- so I have avoided sugar like the plague.

My husband thinks its good that I'm losing a little slower because I don't have as much "skin" hanging -- it seems my body is (so far) able to pull up on it! (Except for the old boobies -- ah well I guess something's gotta give)

The hardest thing we have to do is increase our EXCERCISE and I know for me that is SO HARD TO DO! I'm up to about 30 minutes a day -- but even that's a struggle and between my business travel and my work schedule its really hard. So don't be too hard on yourself, you're doing great!

Im gonna say consider yourself lucky you dont dump etc. I know many would love to be in your postion. Darlin you have lost 45 lbs and it hasnt been 2 full months yet. This is about the time most start wondering about there weight loss. Maybe its time you put your scales away for a while like we tell most and let your body reestablish itself. Its probally just now waking up and saying Woah! LOL. You think about what you used to eat and compare it. Your doing great. Just be patient and it will start peeling it self off again.

Courtney, you are doing great. You just stuck with a stall like the rest of us who had surgery around the same time as you. I don't think it true that misery loves company, but we are here with you and going through the same irritation...LOL.

Hang in there, lets wait and see what the scales do in 2 weeks... we will probably be laughing about our stall and our impatience then....

Your doing fine and like the others said we all hit those stalls. Its normal. And the veterans tell us that all the time. They have all done super and we will too. We will look back on this and laugh.
And i too some days think did I really have the surgery. Knock on wood I too have had no problems and seemed to be breezing thru this. I think and read all the problems that alot of the ladies and guys have and consider my self very lucky. So hang in there and the scale will move. I have just not let myself get on the darn thing. I am ignoring it right now. Easier said than done.
