Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | what exactly does that mean?? i mean, you are talking to someone who hasnt a clue about portion control. my past is a PRIME example of that. i hear people say it all the time. let me explain where im coming from with this: with this surgery if i find something that sits well, i eat it until i cant stand it anymore. with that said, how can i NOT eat the same thing everyday? routine is the only thing that works. when i try to switch things up, its a train wreck LOL! so if i have bacon egg and cheese on toast everyday for a month for breakfast, im doing something wrong arent i? because yes bacon is high in fat. granted its ONE SLICE OF BACON and less than half a breakfast sandwich, but bacon its something that should be eaten in moderation, (not daily?) BUT i cannot tolerate other breakfast meats well. i cannot eat eggs by themselves or they and the pouchy go at it. ok so eat cereal you say? sure. i found one that works, but it only works once. LOL! the special k stuff, i can eat maybe once a week. otherwise it sits like lead. i dont rotate foods because i never know whats going to sit right so i go with what works and i end up eating the same things all day everyday. yes im bored, but bored is way better than the dreaded lump... i cannot plan to have a different thing everyday for breakfast because half the time things dont sit right. i think my stomach has to be used to it in order to accept it. sounds funnny i know, but i dont get how i am supposed to learn this concept at this point...any suggestions? Im not compalining, i promise. i just hoped to have a better grasp on this and more solid habits in place by now. maybe my expectations are high and im being hard on myself... i hope i explained this right and you dont all think im nuts |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Not nuts but great questions I think. I new at this and you know that as far as having it done. Have you tried to eat somthing different on the weekend when you know if it dont set well you can atleast stay home and deal with it? I will admit im the same as you before my surgery. I had the same thing for breakfast everyday because it was just good to me. Pehaps that is somthing that has to be broken? I have no idea. I think you have brought up a great question myself. As far a portion control honey, the only thing i can tell you is look at the box, can etc......for serving size. That is the only way I know to anwswer that question. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenya -- I eat basically the same stuff too. I know I am already in a rut, but it doesn't really bother me. I tried something different last night, went out to eat with a girlfriend. It seemed to go down fine, then about a hour later --- I knew I was in trouble. Spent most of the evening . Thank goodness I had a large cup in the car for the way home. I think it is the security of eating things we know we handle well. I am very careful what I eat at work, cause I don't want to get sick while there. I wait to try anything new until I am at home in the evening or on a weekend. I envy people who have a variety of foods they tolerate.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | me too LOL! i try things at home, but i cant really get a good guage on whether or not it will work repeatedly kinda. i mean the cereal works now, but i cant eat it daily otherwise it hurts my stomach. but am i doing something bad by eating apiece of bacon everyday?? should i be having this once or twice a week instead? i guess im also wondering if moderation means dont eat it all the time, or dont eat a lot of it all the time...im confused. im trying though. i havent given up just yet LOL! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well, I would guess by how well you have done on the lbs lost, that one piece a day isn't hurting you. Our bodies do need some fat each day to help our skin keep its elasticity or something like that. Well at least thats my opinion.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I have a piece of mountain white bread (from Publix) every morning. I alternate what is on it - one day peanut butter, one day sugar free jelly, one day a sprinkle of sugar (or splenda). I can't really find anything else I like that's not too high in something. SOme days I can eat the whole slice, somedays only half. Go figure. Kyle |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You know I just posted about eating something that should have been fine but made me very sick, so I know why you don't - CAN'T - switch it up when you have to be somewhere public. I think it's just someting we have to do until we're a lot farther out and our pouches aren't s picky. My NUT said to keep the fat to under 5 grams a serving. So I would say if the total fat content in your meal is low then don't worry about it. I saw that Morning Star had some "bacon" in the freezer section, that might be an option. Hmmm, I think I'm going to try a piece of bacon myself. |

5' 6" Height: | My moderation issues start back to being a child. If I knew how to be moderate I would have never ended up weighing 365#s. I have to wear side blinders and look directly ahead for the most part or my excessive compulsive self pushes her "weight" in. I pray for moderation.
