Talking Just Feeling Really Good!

Hi everyone. Sorry i havent post lots lately just been really busy. I just wanted to share that i am now 135 pounds and i am 5 pounds away from my surgeons goal and 15 from my own personal goal. I am wearing size 6s and 8s. I am up early and outside with the kiddies in the park, walking around the city. My life does not revolve around food anymore. I do have my moments when i eat due to things other then hunger but i do see a therapist to help with that. I get comments from men on the street DAILY and i am loving it. As i have said in the past I am a Leo and i live for attention so it does not bother me at all. I have not touched soda, sweets, pasta or rice since right before surgery. I crave strawberries all day not cheesedoodles anymore. I can climb up numerous flights of stairs and not feel like my heart is going to explode. I do have areas of my body when not hidden by clothes makes me feel ill when i look at them but thats something i will deal with in the future. As long as i can hide it right now then i am fine. I love being out and about, socializing. I love that i can run around with my kids and not feel like every part of my body aches when i am done. I just started going on interviews i am going to return back to work as a new person, not a cute chubby nurse but a little skinnier nurse and that feels good. Having to wear white is not the most flattering esp when you are 100 pounds overweight!!!!! I just feel like a new person and i am loving life right now. Dont get me wrong i have my bad days .....boy do i have some bad days but in general i am so much more happy these days then i have been in a long time. I have made some wonderful friends who are on this journey as well. Ok i feel better now that i shared! Have a great day and dont forget to smile. If you are pre op you will get here too, if you are new post op your time is really close and if you are a pro then you know what i am talking about!

Anybody else feel really good these days and want to share??

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

LisaMarie, so wonderful to hear how great you are feeling.
This journey sure is about making yourself over in so many ways, and getting the person who was in hiding to greet the world every day. Your post is a great incentive for those who are looking into the surgery, and great inspiration for those who are starting on the losing side.
I hope you'll land a job that will let you bring and share your happiness to those who are suffering.
((((((HUGS)))))))

Talking Wow.....wow.....

LisaMarie...

Wow!!! This is such a great place you are in....I just picture so much of you in NYC...bouncing around in your petite little body!
I did finally go on OBESITY HELP last night...and saw your profile with ALL those GREAT PICTURES!! Wow...the one in front of the 6 Flags bus really gave me a perspective on how tiny of a woman you are!!! WOW. I just couldn't picture 4'11"...but there you were!

It's amazing to me...you are 6.5 mos. post op now --- and you have lost 95% of your weight where most only loose about 75% in the first 6 mos!!!

YOU ARE SOOO AWESOME!!!
Great job....wow. What an inspiration you are!!

correct me if i'm wrong please but LM at 4'11 your dr.s goal for you was 120lbs? because if that's true someone has made a miscalculation for me, (and since i don't like the psychiatrist in ottawa who told me this i'll blame him). He said i shoule weigh 120lbs but i'm 5'5'' or 5'4''. so he was wrong right? i was thinking a goal of 150lbs would be about right for me? How do they decide what a good weight is for a person?

Keep up the good work LM.

freebird, BMI 22 is the ideal weight. The normal BMI range is 18.5-24.9, so with your height (which is around the same as mine) it should be within the range of 110-150 with BMI 22 at 132. If you set your goal at just under obese (the upper range of overweight ) then it should be below 180.

OH bird i think that would be to lo a weight for you.
I am 5'5 and my surgeon is thinking 165 is fine for me
(keeping in mind i must have about 10 or more in skin
issues).
I am okay with were i am but im shooting for high 150's
with the rest being the skin. 120 lbs at your height would
be to light but you will know as you go and all our bodies
are different.

Question

DOC...
How do you calculate from BMI to weight??? I am 5'7"...if my BMI should be 22 what should my weight be?? I need to go to my other PCP...my surgeon didn't set a goal weight for me....Hmmm??
Interesting...
He did say He'd like to see me loose 80% of my excess weight...which was around 198....hmmmm? that would put me at 175...is tht about right.

Of course...I want to be aout 15 lbs. under that...for wiggle room.

Let meknow...thanks~
