Just a wee note to say I'm off to get my plastic surgery done! I want to thank everyone on this great site for all the support I've had - as a non WLS I felt a bit cheeky putting myself on here but have felt nothing but support and warmth from everyone - everyone give yourself a pat on the back. Hopefully I'll be able to get online quickly afterwards but I'm not sure how much computer access I'll have for a little while. I'll talk to you all as soon as I can after to give feedback about how it all went and what others can expect with their plastics. Put me in your prayers on monday the 15th ( or Sunday the 14th as we're a day in front!). Huge hugs.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

you must be so excited. i will keep you in my prayers for an uncomplicated surgery but i'll start today just to be sure i get those prayers to Him on time.

by the way, as for being able to lose the weight and keep it off without the surgery and coming here, it's fine. actually i'm so impressed that you were able to do it, i'm glad we've been able to talk and hope to see you in chat more when you are out of the plastics.
how much did you weigh before? how much do you weigh now? how long did it take you to lose it all?

good luck with the plastics we'll be waiting to hear from you

Freebird, I was 330 pound and lost 165 pound, it took about two years and have maintained for two years now. Thanks everyone for your best wishes and putting me in your prayers. Talk to you soon!

Heidi, I am so excited for you and will deffinately keep you in my prayers. I am so glad that you were cheeky enough to infiltrate our circle. I can't wait to hear from you after surgery, since I am pretty sure that when I am all said and done, I will need the plastics just to keep from getting rashes. I am already getting a little sore under my tummy fold and I have only lost 35 lbs. Great hugs and well wishes. Come home soon.

wow the patience and discipline that that two years must have cost you are staggering. part of why diets always fail for me is that i get discouraged with not losing quickly and give up and then i gain it back and then some. were you on any meds to help you lose weight? i went on metphormine and lost about 22 lbs in two months which was good except the way metphormine makes you lose weight is to keep you on the bathroom toilette like 20xs a day. my system couldn't handle it, i was getting toilette paper rash and couldn't go out anywhere for fear of not making it to a toilette on time. funny though with all of those things i am still thinking of going back on it until the surgery date, the less weight i have to lose the better right? then when i went off of it i gained back the 22 plus an extra 10. now i've found that just by changing eating habits (not necesarrily dieting ), i am lossing weight. it's going slow, but who would have thought that a few changes would make a difference?
let us know about the plastics ok? thanks

Hiedi....I know you are not reading the computer right now...probably not thinking about much after yesterday's 'bout w/ the surgeon'....but, I prayed and AM Praying for you...and your speedy recovery.

I hope you will let us know how everything is going for you...and you will update us in detail about how the pain was....experience was....etc. I too, am sooooo thrilled that you joined our ranks....no matter how the weight comes off....it is significant....
I'm thrilled for you that you lost it...and have kept it off...that is HUGE. You are truly an inspiration to all....
