Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | HOPE these help: Choose nutritious low-fat, low sugar foods rather than empty calorie junk foods. Eat your protein first, then move to a veggie if you have room and last a carb food Do not overeat or allow yourself to feel too full. Chew food thoroughly and put fork down between bites. Eat slowly - meal should last 30 minutes. Avoid stringy and tough textured foods and meats that are difficult to digest. Avoid all high-calorie liquids such as non-diet soft drinks, fruit juices and alcoholic beverages (beer, wine and liquor). Avoid all carbonated beverages; the bubbles can stretch your pouch. Avoid liquids 30 minutes before and after eating.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I was wondering if anyone has found a protein powder that they like, and where did you get it? How much was it and for how many servings? I was at GNC yesterday, and i found some protein powder's, and some powder vitamins, with 1000 mg of calcium added into it. So if anyone can let me know what they are useing and where you got it, i would appreciate it, so much. |

HI BECCA! this is a tough topic as we all have different tastes. ALSO remember ur wants and tastes will be different after surgery. PERHAPS take a look at a few shakes from the estore on this site. THEY offer a few good ones!

well i've been trying different stuff that i know i'm gonna need to have after the surgery and since the e-store here doesn't ship to canada i found a whey protien powder at shoppers drug mart that's really good, chocolate of course, it's a life brand, i don't know about there but here at shoppers drug mart if you try a life brand product you can return it if you don't like it, it's the stores brand so that's pretty cool if i don't like it after the surgery i can return it and try something different. i figured something out today and i can't believe it took me so long, the dietician told me i couldn't drink from a straw right after the surgery because it might cause more gas, i found using a straw helped me to sip, but this morning i drank my shake with a spoon. i know this sounds funny but using a spoon and drinking it like soup one spoon at a time i am forced to only sip, (baby spoon of course), so for any new post ops with problems or pre ops on the way try this it really works for me (although roo watched me with a really funny look on his face, like he thought i was crazy or something, never said anything though)hehe

yeah, more than the food, it is the chugging water capability that I miss the most. I look forward to getting at least a little back, but until then, will try to be very careful. Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | This is a lot of GREAT info!! I've made a few mistakes now and then...and now, I'm taking it easy!! This weekend has been a little more hard....I need to get back in the mode of watching it...and keeping up with my FITDAY!! I've got to buckle down.... BECCA - I use Isopure....LOVE it! It's great for shakes....and the ISOPURE drinks...try them!! BIRDIE - you are doing soooo well....wow. JANAE - I too keep forgetting about the 'chugging' thing....I love to drink down with large gulps...now, I've had to catch myself a time or two....and that has made my pouch ache....to much to fast!!
