Thumbs up Crushed meds

I dont know if anyone has any trouble taking crushed meds. Besides my vitamines, i take 4 different meds before bed, i tried everything, putting in food, crushing it up and drinking it with water. I have found a good way to take meds. I put my meds in a small cut or med cup and pour in Crystal Light.it must have acid in it or something, but after about an hour the meds have disolved. I still plug my nose, but it is the best way i have found to take themI dont know if anyone has this problem but i thought i would share.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You need to be careful with this, because the active ingredients of the medications may be chemically changed and inactivated so, will not be absorbed, or even if absorbed, will not do the job it's supposed to do, when you dissolve medication with anything except plain water. Sometimes even water can do damage.
Ask your pharmacist if Crystal Light doesn't interfere with any of the meds and vitamins you are taking, to make sure that you find yourself lacking, when you think you are taking everything.

I agree with Doc. Check to make sure its ok. Somthing the hosptials do around here is put them in applesauce when taking them. I noticed this when staying in the hosptial. I asked why they had applesauce in baby food form on the carts. When they have to crush meds or even give them to patients to help swallow they mixed it with applesauce

I Still crush my calcium citrate (I've resorted to some citrate and some carbonate) and put it in applesauce (which has become a staple for me at mealtime so my food slides down comfy) or yogurt. Still not fun but seems to help.

Crushing immediately before taking it won't affect the medication much, but if you leave it around for a while, whethre by itself, or mixed with something, that can change the effectivity of the medicine as I said in my previous post.
