i dont think its ever "worth it" to eat out LOL. because i am cheap and cannot guarantee that i will be able to reheat. i have issues with reheated meats mostly....i would say iif you can go somewhere were you can order small (appetizer or kids meal) then go for it. otherwise eat at home

I feel sorry for you, I have never had the "foamies" and am grateful. Actually, I don't really even have a problem if I eat too fast. I really don't eat that much slower than before, I just chew very well. I wonder if that is a bad thing? We ear out oten, but it is more for the social thing, time away from the kids, or dinner out with friends, etc. Usually 2-3 times a week. The problem with kid's menu's is that the choices are typically not very healthy, ie: spagetti, grilled cheese, mac and cheese or chicken nuggets. So I end up wasting a ton of food, hate leftovers!

I had the foamies yesterday after eating some left over broccoli from dinner. It was not even an ounce of it and as soon as it went down, up it came! I hate that. As for dinner and going out, we usually share a plate, but often I will get something that I can eat and KNOW that the kids will eat (even though they swear that they do not eat left overs) and eat my few bites and bring it home. I do not do any kind of left over meat because it hurts so bad. A lot of places do accept the WLS card, but some will not. I posted the card on here...I dont remember where it is, you can save it to your computer and insert your name and surgeon and phone number. It really comes in handy.

I never really had an issue with foamies however every now and then i eat something that i have been eating now for 2 years and ...It gets much better the farther out you are however for me its still there. I also still get dumping which i am sooooooooooo greatful for. I went to dinner last night and ordered a strawberry daquari ...didnt drink the whole thing but enough to ...i felt so sick about 20 min later but it was sooooooooooo freaking good. I am thankful for the dumping because if i didnt dump i know i would have drank the whole thing. This tool still keeps me in check....

Sorry you had the foamies, I got them at the Japanese resturant last nite, I think I didnt chew well and ate too fast. My husband and son stayed at the table until they brought the bill, and I ran to the car and found a shopping bag in the back seat and threw up all the way home! Yeah, they bite, but I agree with you guys, they keep me in check.

I still get this at 5 yrs out..sorry to say. Tonight I had that 'sensation' and my mouth filled up with saliva..urgg.. I forgot myself and drank a swallow of tea too soon after a couple crackers!
eating out...it's pretty much a waste but it's something you eventually figure out how to do. If a place will let you eat off the kid's menu that helps a lot, or appetizers is what I usually order.
I will take things home, leftovers for the kids, but I find I do NOT do well with leftovers of pretty much any kind. cook it, eat it works best for me.
The kids and I did Long John Silvers and you can actually order 1 single piece of fish, if you can tolerate the fried stuff. A lot of places anymore you can get just a single thing.
Frankly the hardest part of eating out wasn't the food. It was the drinking bit. To sit and not drink something while waiting on the food or not drinking after was the tougest for me.
