Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | OK I COULDNT WAIT TILL MONDAY TO SEE THE DOC ABOUT MY KNEE SO WE TOOK A RIDE TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM TONIGHT. NOTHING SHOWED UP IN THE XRAYS BUT I DEF NEED AN MRI AND OF COURSE IF YOU NEED AN MRI THE HOSP TELLS YOU, YOU HAVE TO BE SEEN BY A SPECIALIST AND HE WILL TAKE IT FROM THERE. SO OF COURSE I STILL HAVE MY APPT ON MONDAY SO HE WILL ORDER THE MRI. BUT THE DOC I SAW AT THE ER HAD A FEELING HE KNOWS WHAT THE MRI WILL SHOW. HE SAID I HAVE A POSSIBLE MENISCUS INJURY I WILL FIND OUT HOW BAD THIS IS ON MONDAY BUT WHILE I WAS AT THE HOSPITAL SOMEONE THERE SAID HE HAD THE SAME PROB YEARS AGO AND NEEDED SURGERY. THEY DID IT LAPOSCOPICALLY AND HE WAS ABLE TO LEAVE THE HOSPITAL THE SAME DAY OF COURSE NOT COMPLETLY WALKING OUT ON HIS OWN, LOL. BUT HE ALSO SAID SOME PEOPLE SWEAR BY THE SURGERY AND THEN SOME PEOPLE LIKE HIM WHO SAY THERE KNEE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME THE IS A VERY IMPORTANT TIME RIGHT NOW TO TAKE ADVANTAGE AND LOSE THIS WT. HOW WILL I EXCERCISE WITH THIS PROB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I KNOW YOU GUYS MUST THINK IM CRAZY TO THINK OF THIS BUT THIS WILL BE TIME WASTED BECAUSE AFTER THE FIRST YR MY WT LOSS WILL SLOW DOWN THATS WHY I HAVE TO WORK OUT AS MUCH AS I CAN NOWWELL AT LEAST FOR NOW I HAVE A LEG BRACE AND CRUTCHES TILL MONDAY. IM JUST SO UPSET OVER THIS!!!!! YOU KNOW IM NEVER SICK OR HURT EXCEPT FOR THE BYPASS SURGERY AND THE COMPLICATIONS AFTER BUT NOW THIS!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL. EVERYTIME I FEEL BETTER IT SEEMS LIKE I GET KNOCKED DOWN AGAIN. THE IS TRYING EVERYTHING HE CAN FOR ME NOT TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND MAKE THIS JOURNEY HARDER |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | (((((HUGS))))) I'm so sorry this is happening to you, you don't deserve ANY of this stuff. I hope things aren't as serious as they sound. One thing though, you know you can still work your upper body and you could maybe even do some stuff with your good leg. It's not cardio, but it does burn calories and tone the rest of you (and maybe help the dreaded BAT WINGS!!!). Just an idea.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Positive thoughts and prayers that it is not as serious as they are contemplating and that you wont need another surgery. And if you do then you just take it one step at a time. Keep that chin held high...these are just obstacles put in place to make you a stronger person, hard to see that right now but i have learned over the many years and the MANY surgeries i have had that it does make you stronger. Again positive thoughts and prayers for you .... LittleLisaMarie ![]() |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | (((((Edie))))) So sorry this is happening to you!! My mom had knee surgery for a torn meniscus quite a while ago and has done well. She had PT during recovery and they taught her what types of exercise she could do that would not irritate her knee. She ended up buying a Nordic Track and she is still able to walk quite a bit, do water walking, etc. It's frustrating for sure to have to go through this, but you will be able to exercise eventually and you're early enough post-op that you may find it doesn't effect your weight loss very much at all. HTH Chrissy

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | BOOTS!!! IT WILL BE OK!!! I've had one knee scoped (they removed the meniscus) and I walked out on my own....without crutches! I am actually missing my ACL (I tore it and they shaved it off during the scope....this ligament is VERY important...it holds your knee in place)....I went to physical therapy, never had reconstructive surgery & I'm fine!! I still go to the gym, exercise etc......they have improved techniques for this and you should do fine! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Boots, I am so sorry you have yet another difficulty to deal with. You are a strong willed women, you will get through this also. I know you are so bummed about you window of opprotunity to loose right after surgery. You will continue to loose, and as some of the other girls have mentioned you can do upper body work. If indeed you need to have another surgery, the physical therapy will count towards exercise. Leave it in God's hands, I will keep you in my prayers. REMEMBER
