Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | hi kimmie first off.....congratulations on your surgery date. YOUR going to be a 2006 Junebug...i am a 2005. My surgeon also required pre op weight loss...and what i did was follow a STRICT ATKINS induction ...why i choose that is its hight protein lo carb eating which is very much like the rules of eating post op. I did that and used my favorite protein shake during this time to loose my needed pre op weight loss. If you need information on doing a clean atkins induction..... you can visit their website at www.atkins.com or get the atkins book......Its only a suggestion and what worked rapidly for me. MY surgeon is very strict on this requirement and i lost my needed weight. I feel doing that atkins if your carb addicted during the induction you will suffer from any withdrawals and i think the more you rid pre op the easier post op care will be. GOOD LUCK and finding something for your pre op weight loss is personl and this is only a suggestion on what i used to help. YOU will easily loose 10 or more pounds on a legal induction. If you need more info on atkins feel free to PM me. LOOK forward to getting to know you more lisa

| WLS Mentor | Kimmie CONGRATULATIONS! you must be so excited . i can't wait till i get one, i hat the waitning. Chat times are schedualed for 10am and 8pm weekedays, i will try to be in the chat room monday at 10am in case nobody else makes it if you want. i can gaurantee to be there monday after noon around 4pm also, if you can't make it in the morning. it's hit and miss with the 8pm one, sometimes there are peeps there sometimes not. as for losing the weight, my Doc doesn't require it but i am losing slowly, just by changing what and how i eat, i'm also doing protien shakes for breakfast and lunch to get used to them and eating less. i've lost 5lbs in 6 weeks. you have to find what works for you i guess, sorry i can't be of much more helpl Keep us posted

Can't wait to go party with you once our hubbies get back from their beach vacation next year.... earmark some of that tax return... Janae |

| Super Moderator | Kimmy, congratulations on your surgery date!! Hope your pre-op diet goes well and you can lose the weight your surgeon wants you to. It will make the surgery less dangerous, and will help ease you into the very regulated eating you will have to do for a few months post op. Good luck on the new leg of your journey!
