Red face Returning to the work place!

Hi again. I dont know if i mentioned to some of you but i have decided to go back to work after being home with the kids for almost 2 years. I am a Registered Nurse but took some time off to adjust the kids to the city again when we moved back. Well that some time turned into a longer time then expected. I enjoy my children very much but its now time to return to work for many reasons. I am however feeling really guilty about leaving the kids. I know this is normal but its just such a hard thing to do. I went on one interview and landed that job. I didnt expect to get the first job i applied for, esp because its a great one. I will be working mon-fri 9-5 no weekends no holidays which is a nurses dream job. I will be a nurse case manager for foster boarding home and 2 groupl homes for adolesents. Its what i love to do. As for babysitting, my husband will be home with them tues-fri as he works eves so the only day i would need a sitter is mondays. He works days on mondays. SO not to bad as far as worrying who my kids are with. Just had to vent a little. Thanks for listening!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I know how it feels honey! today was my 1st day back to work after the surgery. And I have been away from work almost for 6 moths!! I had my leave balance for last year just before I deliever my second baby who's now 5 months old. Had 2 months maternity then 2 months motherhood leave. Went back to work for 2 days then did the surgery and stayed at home for a month since mine was open.
Today my heart was out for the kids! I called the nanny maybe 100 times hrehehehe my eldest (will be 3 years old next July) she goes to the nursery so that's how she spend the morning until 12:30 or 1:00PM sometimes but I come back from work ~ 3:30PM. I left home this morning at 6:20AM kids were sleeping and returned back and also they were sleeping! after I had my lunch I napped and the lil one was up so I called the nanny to take her out..I woke up wasn't feeling good...now it's almost 9:20PM and I just noticed that I haven't seen my kids!!
you know that's the price for the working mom, she misses her kids so bad but she neither have time nore the energy when she gets back home to make it up for the kids. sometimes I feel awful and as a bad mom.
But I always try to make it up for them during the weekends if I'm not drained. eehhh speaking about it sprikles salt and pepper on working mom wound :~(

Congratulations on getting the job Lisa and congrats on surviving your first day back to work. I am nervous about entering school or the workforce when my youngest starts school, but feel like my losing the weight will help my confidence. I haven't worked since I had my son almost seven years ago, and I only have a high school diploma. Who knows, maybe I will try to get a job at a clothing store so that I can get a good discount on my new wardrobe. Anyway, best of luck to you both.

LisaMarie, congratulations on your new job!
I'm very glad to hear it's something that you love to do, because it will ease the pain of having to leave the kids for work.
I've been at this game for--well, nearly 30 years of motherhood, so, say, maybe 20 years or so, untill the girls were college age, and they've lived all their lives with us, which is quite normal for girls from financially stable families here. One thing I've become good at, is switch priorities quickly whenever needed, and multi-task at everything. I always concentrated on my daughters whenever I was home, I concentrated on my patients when I was at work. It is a worry to leave the children in hands of others, you are lucky that you can keep it mostly within the family. Mine went to public daycare about 5 mins walk from home, made many friends all living close by, and the younger kids had 1 teacher to every 3-5 kids, the pre-schoolers 1 to 20 kids, so I think they were pretty well looked after. I think I appreciated my daughters more because I had to be away from them during the day, if I had been with them all day, there most certainly would have been times when I would have felt pressured and drained when something didn't go well, and lapse in being as observant as I should be. As it was, since I felt that quality in time had to make up for the quantity in time that I couldn't give, and I concentrated on giving them attention, and in making observations about them. I figure they turned out pretty well, so I'm sure your kids will turn out well, too, since you have a heart of gold!((((((HUGS))))))

Chuppy, oh, it's a pity your girls were sleeping when you left, and when you got home. I hope you'll get your strength back soon so that you can spend more time with your children when you are at home. (((((((HUGS))))))

Pillows, you know, you could work for a degree out of your home while you are raising your children. Even if they are small now, and need a lot of attention, your example of studying seriously at home when you can sneak in the time, will be good for your children in gaining a respectful attitude towards serious academics. These days, I see so many young people not serious enough about what "book learning " can really give you and examples shown by parents count a lot. I'm sure you'll be able to find a wonderful job when you feel it is time for you to rejoin the work force.((((((((HUGS)))))))

THank you guys for your support and encouragement. I know this is the best thing for me to do at this time, just needed a little convincing that i was doing the right thing for my little ones. I love being a mom but as Doc pointed out some days get so stressful and hard, a balance of work and motherhood is probably the best thing to do for everyone. And yes Lisa i will be saving because you know how much i love to go to Disney and by next year we will be due again for another vacation there, and on one salary that is not possible! I love being a nurse and really love working with children in the foster care system. I feel rewarded when i can do what i can for them. THey have such a hard life, one that many of us will never and have never known thankfully. Makes you appreciate what you do have, the family that you have and the things you are priveledged with. It reminds you that yes we have problems, but if we took our problems and put the on a table with others problems we would most likely grab our problems back and run. You guys here are great support. Thank you!

LisaMarie, if you love Disney, after you've saved up and gone to the Disneys in the US, consider visiting the Tokyo Disney Resort here some day, and save big up for that!! We have Disneyland and Disney Sea side by side, along with a number of hotels surrounding it plus a couple on the grounds, and a large shopping mall , the Ikspeari, also run by Disney's parent company. Gosh, I would be happy to spend a few days with you and your kids there!! I think it would be soooooo fun.

thanks for the suggestion of studying and taking courses at home, but right now I have too much on my plate and mind. I also want to go and take classes elsewhere for the interraction purposes. I miss being in an actual classroom with the whole nine yards, besides right now I am trying to help ease stress while hubby gets his job training done and we try to figure out if we are going to re enlist and where we will be living. If there is a chance that my hubby can get his degree, then I want him to get a degree first since there are age restrictions towards certain advancements from it. By the time we have this figured out we will also be making more and able to decrease his student loans by a lot. I am also hoping that there is a slight possibility that they may make the GI bill available to the spouses. I haven't heard any deffinates about it, but there are the occasional stray rumours. Who knows? All I know is that I am grateful that my husband has provided for us to where I could stay home with my kids for this long.
