Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | OK so i did it. My dr prescribed one when i went in last week. I didnt post about this because i wanted to be ok with it myself first. sounds stupid i know but i didnt want to take it. i went in last week to talk about the numbness in my leg/foot and i burst out into tears. didnt really know why but i jsut did, and it had happend quite frequently up until that point. i explained to her that this happend daily. i didnt feel "hopeless" to the extent of taking a nosedive off the roof, but i have had my rough moments. i explained that at times i was so anxious and other times i was very down in the dumps, but couldnt really describe anytime in between. I have been very stressed lately. havent slept much etc. anyhow, she gave me a lexapro starter pack. i honeslty did not want to admit defeat by taking it, and i actually put it off for a few days, but i have been on it for a week and a few days and while i cannot say i notice an actual difference in myself, i DO notice that i feel things are not as "urgent" as they were prior to taking it. can this happen in 1 week?? hmmm so im taking it, i feel good about it. i am not ashamed or embarassed anymore. and if anyone has taken this and has anything to share please do. and even if you havent taken it and want to share, please do i think that depression is something that deserves aknowledgement no matter how minor you feel it is. if you feel stuck, alone, or hopeless; please talk to someone about it. dont try to make it go away on your own. I should do commercials.... Last edited by Kenyar : 11-01-2007 at 08:02 PM. Reason: typos of course.... |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenya I Think It Is Great That You Took This Step. It Will Take A While Till You Totally Feel And Notice A Difference. Also There Are Times That You And The Doc Have To Experiment With The Dosage And The Type Of Pill Your Taking. Somtimes They Have To Change The Dose Or Put You On Somthing Different If This One Doesnt Work Out. All I Can Say Is Be Real Patient Thru This Process. It Will Work!!! I Think You Are Doing A Great Thing To Help Improve Your Life. Somtimes You Need Help So Why Not Take It Right. I Wish You All The Luck |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks Kenya. Its Funny Because Tom Hasnt Really Affected My Eating Since Surgery But This Month I Can Eat A House!!!! And The Past 2 Days I Have Been Eating Way More Than Usual And I Try Not To Eat Late At Night And I Even Did That The Other Nite With Cheese And Cashews And 2 Crackers. I Was So Upset At This All I Was Afraid To Weigh Myself For 2 Days So Today I Did And Go Figure I End Up Losing 2 Lbs In 2 Days. Lol I Usually Eat About 750 Calories A Day Give Or Take And Yesterday Was Out Of Control And Reached 946 I Just Felt So Depressed And Wondered What The Hell WILL Happen To Me In The Future. Lol But After Losing The 2 Lbs I Feel A Bit Better But Still Worry What Will Happen Every Month During Tom |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenya, Lexapro is the medication that I am on. They put me on it about 3-4 years ago. I take it for Anxiety. It is a depression med but they tried me on it for the anxiety. This is my miracle drug. My life is so much better now because of it. At the time my son was a senior in high school. It was right after the war started up and he informs me he was going into the Navy. This being my only son and the way he was acting at the time just couldnt bear it. My PCP seen the need for me to be on somthing and precribed this. Needless to say my son didnt go in to the service. No that is a bad thing but being my only child I had nightmares I would never see him again. This is somthing that no one should be ashamed of. The meds you have now are shown to work within 2 weeks. I can personally say after one weeks time my anxiety was being relieved. Im so glad you got help. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kenya there is nothing wrong with needing an antidepressant. I suffer hugelt fron SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and have been on and off them for years. I have been on Effexor since the death of my mom two years go. She was my best friend and it was a long.ugly death. I moved in to her home for the last year of her life to take care of her and when she died I just couldn't snap out of it. I still cry often thinking and missing her. Actually, when I had this surgery I suggested to the doc that maybe I should wean off them and he totally disagreed. He said that he puts a large amount of GBS patients on them postop. He said that depression is sometimes part of the aftereffects of GBS. Frankly I think that you have had alot of things going on and this will make a huge difference for yoiu. The newer ones such as Lexapr or Cymbalta take effect quite quickly and usually help within 2-3 weeks. It is very possible that you are beginning to feel the benefits after one week. By three weeks you will feel like a different person. Good luck sweetie and you know you can always vent here!!
