Default Girly Ritual

Okay, so Sunday I had a great thing happen for the first time ever. I was at church and my friend invited me over to her house afterwards to hang out for awhile since my hubby was sleeping. I took her and her hubby up on their offer along with my kids and they decided to try to go to a street fair in their neighborhood. The dress and shoes that I was wearing for church that day weren't appropriate for walking around the town so she lent me a skirt, some flip flops and a t-shirt. This is like the first time I have ever been able to fit into any of my friends clothes before. Granted they were clothes that she still had from when she was losing due to the surgery, but that is not the point. If I hadn't lost the 41 lbs that I had lost so far, I would not have been able to do that. I am really enjoying being a girl right now. It is amazing how many people are coming up to me and complimenting me on how great I look, and most of them are men! I expected my female friends to tell me cuz they all knew about the surgery, but I have never had a friend's hubby compliment me like that before. It is a nice change of pace and I admit I enjoy it.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Way to go, girl!
Is there anything you gave up because you thought it wouldn't be becoming to you? Or making the excuse that since the kids are still small and such? I sure hope you'll find the incentive and time now to pamper yourself just a little bit more, and enjoy that great girlie feeling we can have, no matter what our age!
((((((((HUGS)))))))))

P.S. You are radiant in your avatar, such a wonderful change!

pillows, you look so happy in this new pic
i haven't had the surgery yet but i have three friends that are already offering me their clothes when i get down to that weight so i don't have to buy as many clothes during my lossing period. i can't wait to go over and say, i've always loved this outfit can i borrow it for a while. hehe, already know of two or three things i'm gonna do that with. but i think i'll also like buying clothes because i want them not because i need it and it's the only thing that will fit

i'm thinking you need a "just because i'm me day", a day with no kids and just pampering, manicure pedicure facial ect. i love doing that now and i think it'll be even more fun after i've lost some weight cause i'll be able to show myself off more. hehe

I have always been bigger than my Mom and sister and daughter and all my friends so I could never borrow slothes from anyone. I can now although I haven't because I don't like any of my family's taste. My friends are all a liilte smaller yet so the day will come.

yeah, a lot of my friends are either more conservative than me, or way smaller than me. I lucked out that this one is just right. We are a good fit in a lot of ways and I love her dearly. I look forward to being a smaller size than my sister by the time I go home. She is the type that even though she always struggled a bit with weight, was always smaller than me even though she is seven years older. That will be weird for me. Thanks again for all of your wonderful support.

i sort of know how that feels pillows.although i only have brothers and i was not fat all of my life once i started gainig weight i got really uncomfortable around my brothers because they were both beanpoles who can eat as much of what they want and not pay for it. if i can have my surgery by Sept this christmas is gonna be so sweet, of course i won't have lost it all, but my brother thinks i'm fat because i'm lazy and chose to be. i can't wait to be able to move better and faster and maybe even be able to ice skate at our rink at the cottage this christmas. Now my brother has taken health to heart for the past 6years, (hmmm....just realized that that's when i started trying to get my surgery here in canada< coincidence?), so he's gotten into strength training and running and you should see his abs, (sorry i know he's my brother and he doesn't think much of me but i still love him and am proud of his accomplishments), some summer i hope to be able to run with him at the cottage. being the only really fat person in the family is really hard, no matter what the reason for the weight gain, physical, mental, overeating, junk food binges or all of the above, it will be good to feel normal around my family again. i plan on putting a few stray but hurtful comments back in a few faces after i am thin and healthy, one of my uncles for sure, who is not that much smaller than me but likes to point out my inadequacies before looking at or fixing his own.

sorry for venting

Talking

Janae....
This is soooo fantastic, wow... you are awesome! This is soooo exciting. It's hard for me to see my -40#...but the one place I get the encouragement is thru my old clothes....
I have one pair of capris I LOVE...and I put them on last Week ...and now, they're falling off...it's kinda a funny...and has become a funny joke b/tween my DH and I. (We did errands today....and everytime I got out the car he said...."Pull up those pants...I see your undies!!")

LOL!!!

I just talked to my sister on the phone this weekend and she told me that she is a size 18 too right now, so we are the same size! Wow, I am so happy.... I feel kinda guilty about being so excited, but can't help it. Tomorrow is weigh in day again.... wish me luck.
