Default wow, i didnt know low iron can do this.....

quoted from a post elsewhere:

had been taking bariatric advantage chewable irons (2 per day) and had been doing that since my surgery and then recently found my ferritin at a 9 and my TIBC nearly 600!! My hemoglobin and hemotocrit were within normal levels - but low-end; and even with that, I had a mild heart attack from being iron deficient!!!! Please - do not mess around with low iron!!! This is serious stuff folks. I just had an infusion and that has really helped my energy levels and I feel 100% better.

wow !!! i wish it was the 15th to get moveing on these issues that i have. MY tireds are back big time again, seemed to worsen after TOM.
then to read this...i have a very lo ferritan level so who knows

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yes I have been a very good girl. that is one thing that I have not strayed from at all since surgery 7 months ago. I take all my required stuff. I take a thing for the life of me I cant think of right now. Conison I think that has iron in it.

Wow! Is your heart okay? That is so scary.

When did you begin with the iron supplements? I am only taking a multi vitamin. Maybe I should start an iron supplement too.

I hope you are doing better. Thanks for letting usknow. This is definitely something I wil watch. I had this surgery to avoid the heart attacks.

My doc did not tell me to take Iron, is that unusual? I have yo have labs the end of this week, so that should tell the story, I guess.

I started taking the Bariatric Advantage Chewable iron tabs from my surgeon at one week. I took those until I was ready for swallowing pills and then switched to the 65mg Ferrous Iron tablets from Walmart. IRON is extremely important as well as Thiamin (B-1)...I have not missed a day of either of these. I would suggest that you contact your surgeon and ask if you should be on it yet?!!? The head nurse at the Bariatric unit of the hospital gave us a list of all necessary pills that we are to take now for the rest of our lives. We even had to sign a contract that we would continue these. Good Luck with your lab results!!

I wasnt told to take iron at all, and my labs never check this kind of stuff which sorta concerns me. I'm thinking a dose from the vitamin aisle might be a good thing.....

Lisa just a thought here mabye i have missed this part. I would ask your OB GYN to make sure your not having to much of a flow during TOM. I had a hysterectomy when I was 29. They had to build me up to even have the surgery mine had gotten so bad.
