I have my 3 monthe check up on monday and I am getting nervous.I never bought a scale so i have no idea how much i lost since my visit on 9/24/07.Iknow i have lost but all i can hear in the back of my mind is him saying"you should be at least 20lbs lighter next time you come in", I swear that echos in my head the closer monday gets.Pre surgery he seemed not very nice to me, ut after he was like a different person, I'm afraid he'll go bak to being not so nice if Im not where I should be weight loss wise.

ONE major reason i choose my surgeon was his AWESOME careing way that goes beyond what i have expected from him thru this journey. I had met with another surgeon but choose mine. IT mattered and how he has always made me feel i was his only number 1 patient helped me do this !!! hang in there! SORRY HE CHANGED THIS WAY! ITS A SCARY journey.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Some doctors just don't have good bedside manners. That is the conclusion I came up with when I had my hysterectomy. I really didn't like that doctor who did my surgery at all. I had kept that opinion to myself but after my husband and mother had to deal with her, they came up to the same conclusion I did without me even saying a word. Not all doctors are like that. Now my doctor I have now and the one that removed my gallbladder are great. I guess in every area you will always have a few bad seeds but don't let that get you down. It's going to be okay. You are doing great. Just keep that in mind and no matter what he says, just keep saying to yourself I am doing this for me and I am doing a wonderful job because you are.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | On my initial consult he came off as "mean", then when i woke up in the hospital after surgery he was completely different, very nice, and for the initial follow up visits he was fine, I guess maybe i am just paranoid, like he is gonna scold me for not losing enough or something, i guess i need to give in a buy a scale finally, I m afaid to, i can be very nuerotic and obsessive about things thats why i didnt get one in the 1st place

I think what you will find is them showing you how dangerous this surgery can be and is. I think they want to let you know up front Ok this is not easy. Mine......... hes straight foward and to the point. That is what I wanted. His job was to do the surgery and take care of me during and after. Mine is a sweet sweet man. Since I had surgery hes been there for me though everything I have asked him and even gets down to a personal level with me. Part of it is from where he knows the Dr I work for. The other part is the love of cars him and my hubby share. Alot of people i know that have delt with him dont like him because they say hes not chummy? When asking him about the work he did they wouldnt see anyone else. So...... honey dont worry about it. Your like me and didnt buy a scale. You will be suprised in your weight loss. We all loose differntly. |

| I agree with Kath you need to stand up for yourself. We are not saying be mean back because that makes you like him. But you need to let him know that you don't need to be harassed when you are doing the best you can. And remind him that everyone is different. When I was having really bad pain in my hip my Dr. then would say to me so when are you going to finally lose weight. And I would say you wont even give me pain meds and how can I walk more when I can hardly walk to grocery shop. And he just ignored me. For two years, but I never thought I had a problem that was progressing and finally when my new Dr. listened to me and got an x ray on my hip it was to late it is dead and needs to be replaced. He could have put me on PT or at least given me pain meds so I could walk more but ooohhh no.. He just gave me crap all the time about so when are you going to lose weight. But he really didnt want to hear anything .... And I should have been more aggressive.
