Red face WOW!! no more sugar - it just hit me- lol

I JUST REALIZED WHAT no MORE sugar MEANS--- to me.

I don't mean to sound dumb, i was fully aware of this before i made my decision for surgery... but it really just hit me about how this impacts my "social" life. And my family.

I'm not complaning and i have ZERO regrets about my surgery... best thing i ever did for myself, and I am more then happy to make the necessary life changes i need to for successful weightloss and keeping it off- that is why i had the surgery in the first place...

But WOW! it hit me...

I can't just hit the deli and order a tea light and sweet anymore without worry- i have to get sweetner and PRAY they really put it (not sugar) in there! or do it myself.

I can not have birthday cake, ice cream cake, holiday candy, pies, goodies at PTA meetings, no more ice cream runs with the kids to share hot fudge sundaes... etc.

I will have to have other foods. I have to always watch and be careful...

wow...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I've had a very small BITE of a b-day cake about a month ago...and I had a piece of candy at halloween....the key is moderation!!!! Before, I would have had a HUGE piece of cake and asked for seconds....or I would have eaten 1/2 the bowl of halloween candy....

Never say never...just say....NOT LIKE I USED TO!!

I really do not miss sweets. I get my sweets, when I crave them, which is far and few in between, is from my protein cookies, which are sooo good and from the protein bar that I make homemade, it tastes just like fudge with nuts in it. They are sooo yummy. The protein cookies have a little over 1 carb and 3 protiens. The protein bar, which measures around 1 inch by 4 inches and has 15 proteins and 6 carbs. Ever since the surgery I crave very few sweets. The thing I crave more of is not a good food and that is potatoes. But I have been really doing good by not eating potatoes, I only ate a tablespoon or two 3 times since my surgery and that satisfys me. And bread and noodles don't even phase me at all.

some of those sugar free candies are loaded with sugar alcohols which I was told still do affect people. as trulykath said watch the carbs, fats and calories. i had a BOGO coupon for bags of russell stover sugar free candy. so i bought 1 bag of peanut butter cups and 1 bag of carmel chocolates. i was really never a sweet eater, i bought them just to have incase i wanted to have a little something. well, 2 small pb cups were 160 in calories, 12 gr of fat, 17 gr of carbs with 14g of sugar alcohol. the fact is i'll probably eat 1 every few weeks and it'll be just enough to satisfy me. but 160 calories for 2 small candies. that's high and not even real sugar. i did have 1 pb cup just to try it. it was good and i was fine after i ate it. i just won't make it a habit to eat them often even though they say sf.
