Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  So I went I refused to go to my high school reunion, I could not go weighing what I did. So today was a funeral for a friend I have known since kindergarten's Mother, and I went!! I knew there would be several people from high school there, this woman was a second Mom to a lot of us, and I felt good enough about myself to go!!! Actually, after the services the family asked everyone to meet at a buffet in town and visit and eat, so I went, all of us from high school sat at a table together and someone remarked about the small amount of food on my plate and that I only picked at it. So I said I was full and got "the look" from everyone. I said I had gastic bypass in August and still got "the look", my friend asked why and I said "cause I weighed 315 pounds!" nobody could believe that I weighed that much 3 months ago, I just giggled inside!! Anyways, it was a nice visit with all the old friends and I am glad that my weight did not cause me to lose out on the opportunity to catch up with everyone!

| Big Loser | I'm so glad you got to go. I know I'm dreading Thanksgiving this year because I don't want my boyfriend's family to see me this way. But I have to go because 1) They are family, 2) His dad, if he even lives until Thanksgiving (he has cancer and it is just a matter of time now), will, it might be the last time we are all together - before his funeral. But at least now I have some hope that next year I won't have to have this fear of being with my own people, for heaven's sake. Bad enough when you don't want to be around strangers. I am sorry you missed your reunion, but I'm glad you got to go to this. I bet you can't wait for the next reunion now though, can you! You are going to really awe them then! |
