Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | wow, what a great question! I'll enjoy reading others responses, especially the folks closer to their goals. I'm technically over half way, but in my mind Im thinking I got a good 50 # more to go. I think the biggest thing for me is my BP is normalizing, Im off those meds now, and I had to go off my arthritis meds pre-op as I cant take them post op (NSAIDS) but Im doing fine without them at this point - much less stress on my bones. Sat. I did a major cleaning job at home and this would have left me miserable and sore by 6pm 4 months ago. Today when I finished cleaning, I went for a 1 hr jog -- that's a major difference for me --- I was tired, but Im not hurting. I'm also in a size 18 for the first time in ~18 years and am enjoying shopping. Still working on my "view" of myself - I've always been one of those people that could talk to anyone, like when you're standing in line...., and I really dont notice much change in the way people see me.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I KNOW I am healthier...and that the path I was on would lead to nothing but disaster....I never dreamed I would be down this much in just over 3 months! as you can tell, I've never really struggled with confidence LOL I was a BBW and PROUD of it...if people didn't like what they saw in me before, you couldn't have paid me to give a shit....hubby thought I was hot then; thinks I'm hot now! I feel better....I have more energy. I'm 42 years old, but I was starting to feel ANCIENT...kept using Garth Brooks' line about I'm too dang young to feel this old....I don't feel that way anymore. I have always dressed young....spent thousands at Lane Bryant on clothes....now I can pull it off easier & shop ANYWHERE!! ...and that's nice. I adore wearing size 14 jeans...and they are getting loose!! Overall, I feel better physically...and that was my motivation for this anyway....so IT"S WORKING!! |

We have been to the zoo, parks, and the playgrounds at the mall. I was even able to keep him for 3 days in a row and managed to keep up with the little devil.... I would never have been able to do that before my surgery.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | For me is feeling and being so much healthier.....Just prior to surgery I had been sick alot, requiring many surgeries and I truely believe it was mainly due to my weight. I think that it was a bad cycle of being heavy, not feeling good about myself, that caused stress at home that caused more weight to be put on and it went on and on....... Now i feel so much better. I feel Healthy, Positive {most of the time} HAPPY and more confident. I love running around with the kids in the park and not having to stop to catch my breath....I am just loving life on a different level. It changes you in so many ways. Of course you are going to have your good days and bad days as you can tell from many posts here but that is what you call LIFE.... Only you can make you happy. If you depend on anyone else to do it for you you will never be truely happy. This surgery gives you that confidence to face the world and find what it is that makes you happy. Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am nowhere near goal, have lost almost 55 lbs. and life has changed so much already! I like not being so self conscious in public, and not wondering if I will fit in chairs with arms or booths. I get real compliments all the time from friends and family about how great I look or am doing (I used "being a fat lady" as an excuse the other day to park closer to a building and my friends son said "thats no excuse for you anymore")!!!! We save so much money cause we dont eat out hardly ever anymore, and food shopping has totally changed too. My knees dont bother me anymore. I dont dread getting dressed up to go somewhere or worry if I will find something in the closet that fits me.
