Lisa, that's exactly why you are a good speaker. You are good at keeping track, but even then, you get off track. The point is, we all have our short comings, and the important thing is, our willingness in fixing the habits that get us into trouble. People do need to understand that it isn't always smooth sailing, but also that with proper care and after care, most things can be fixed. Being honest is the best thing, don't worry about bursting other people's bubbles. You know very well, that if post ops thought that it is all easy and smooth sailing, it will get that post op into trouble big time. Don't be afraid to share, as you have both good and bad to share. After all it is life, there will always be good and bad, even after surgery. ((((((HUGS))))))

Hey hey hey!! YEAH!! I finally met (friendly)Lisa!! EDIE (boots) your next!!  Oh please--- she was a great speaker!! She's just being shy and modest!! She was VERY inspirational and had all of us newbies hanging on her every word! lol  She has a lot to say and contribute and she looked awesome doing it!!  Thanks for all of your sweet comments about our picture-- yup-- we do look nice  I would love to meet EVERYONE at some point-- we really should try to an annual meeting. Anyway, i do hope to go to the WLS meeting next Wed's at Panera Bread in Sayville --hopefully Edie (boots) and any other locals can attend

Nice Pictures, Lisa. I like to see when people get together. I am sure you were great speaking at your group. The newer post-ops need to hear that sometimes there are snags. The Coordinator at my group often asks us "long terms" to discuss issues that may pop up later, so the newer post ops and pre ops know that it is not all "roses" so to speak. S

yes it was great i hadnt been to the meeting in ages and i will say FRAN is why i went. I knew how much she wanted to meet me at his support meeting and trust me i pushed myself to go. BY days end of work i have no energy but i forced myself and was glad i did. THANKS all i have had that skirt for a while....thanks for the comments! NOW were gonna try to meet at another local meeting in our area if its on for next week and im brining EDIE along! so hopefully this time next week we will have pics of FRAN, Edie and me!!! and if were lucky tantesta who has posted a few times might even be there if she isnt working that night! so stay tuned for more photo moments. AS for that gathering in NY i know for me i have a big time cheering compeition that my daughter will be competiting in so its out for me. depending how her team does how many other weekends will be consumed with more competitions! so i dont think ill make it this year but hey you never know.

I guess like with any other addictive process it's key to have "old-timers" around who have been doing well for a long haul!!! You're a great role model. You don't need to be perfectly "on" or perfectly "bright and chipper". To be someone really rare, all you need to be is an average-weight woman, who lost significant weight, and has kept it off for quite a while!!! I KNOW you know the statistics on THAT!!! Not too many "previously over-weight people" learn how to "live normal"!!! I love the pictures and I think you're great! Hope you get your ZOOM back. XOXO Mya |
