Default How Did I Eat That Much?

OMG! I can't believe it. Well, I go to lunch today and was so proud that I had brought my lunch to work and thought I was being good. I ate one of those little bowl containers of Healthy Choice Vegetable Soup. I thought I was being good. It had 8 proteins in it and it was vegetables, which are good for you too.

Anyway, after I ate the last bite, I thought to look down and see how many ounces it was in the container. Goofy me didn't think to check it before I ate it. I guess because it was already in a container ready to heat and eat. Anyway, when I look down, it said that the container was 14 oz. HOW IN THE WORLD DID I HOLD THAT MUCH AT ONE TIME? This baffles me. I am completely lost.

I know if it was food with any thick consistency, I wouldn't have been able to hold that much, because I haven't been able to hold a whole lot lately.

Is eating this much soup today going to hurt me? Is it going to stretch my pouchy out? I am so nervous. I am really panicing!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I'm sure a majority of it was liquid...which shoots right through you! The veggie portion probably wasn't that large....and it was a Healthy Choice item...so you did good on the fats/carbs/sugar side of things....! As Doc told me early out...watch the sodium levels in pre-packaged foods.....

I'm sure you are fine...some days, we can hold more than others!!

Sherry, I wasn't told soup was a no no. At least I haven't heard that. I know not to eat cream based soups because of the fats and loaded with carbs.

Kathy, I do think it was mostly liquid, but still, is this going to stretch my pouch out. 14 oz. is 14 oz. I TERRIFIED!

Hey Christy, don't panic! Some days are better than others. I know I have to watch how much I eat, because sometimes I know I ate too much, but yet still seem to want more...we are at about the same surgery date and weight loss......you are doing great......also maybe you was chatting at work and ate slowly which meant you got more down.....

honestly my surgeon says to have soup
only occasionally cause its like have a drink
with your meal and the liquid will push the solid
parts thru causeing you to eat more.
I rarely do soup do to this unless im
following a liquid plan of some plataue buster/
pouch reset type thing

hugs!

I do the soup thing but I eat soup about once in two weeks, I usually do the soup when I really crave soup and the soup I do is the one that is campbells in a plastic can and heat up in the microwave and it is pretty low in carb, in that brand is the one that is veg. beef soup and that one has hardly no protein. But then I up my proteins in my other meals for that day. Then what I like to eat in place of soup is chili and that really satisfys me. I make my chili pretty full of protein and I like it pretty spicey. Before my surgery I did not like spicey chili and now I am just the oppisite. My daughter who had her surgery in Dec. cannot hardly believe how I can eat that spicy chili, but it settles on my stomach wonderfully. I do not get sick on that chili what so ever. Is that kinda weird for me? Is that harmful to my pouch being I like the chili spicy? By the way my veg. soup is mostly water and very few veg. and a few beef peices in it.

If anything (as long as it's not a high calories fat-based soup), I think soup will pretty much clean you out! When I was young and silly, basically starving myself into submission, I used to never deviate and eat one 140 cal can of soup for lunch every day (course the rest of the "diet" was 1 piece of toast for breakfast, and a poached egg for dinner--period!!!). Boy did the weight drop off!

Certainly if you didn't have a sensation of "fullness" or some kind of "pain" I would not go so far as to think you actually stretched your pouch out from this ONE occasion. I would probably be better to eat no more oz of soup that you've been told to drink at one sitting--or better yet, ask your DOC!!!

XOXO
Mya
