Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | UMMMM ASH WE HAD OUR SURGERY THE SAME TIME. ITS FUNNY I JUST GOT ON THE COMPUTER TO START A THREAD LIKE THIS. I AM ALSO HUNGRY AND AFRAID. I HAVE AN APPETITE AND I CAN EAT MUCH MORE. LIKE TONIGHT FOR DINNER I ATE 3.90 OUNCES OF FLOUNDER, A LITTLE MORE THAN A 1/4 CUP OF ASPARAGUS AND FOR DESSERT I HAD 1/2 BANANA. UMMMM HELLO THATS ALOT OF FOOD. NO ITS NOT AS MUCH AS I USED TO EAT PRE-OP BUT DAM ITS STILL ALOT! ITS FUNNY THOUGH BECAUSE AT LUNCH TIME I WASNT ABLE TO EAT A WHOLE VEGGIE BURGER (no bread) AND AT BREAKFAST I HAD 1 OUNCE OF CHEESE AND 2 MULTI GRAIN CRACKERS. I WANTED TO ASK DOC IS THIS NORMAL. I KNOW SHE WILL PROBABLY SAY YES BUT IT SCARES ME TO DEATH IT SEEMS MY APPETITE IS GETTING BIGGER AND BIGGER. I WANTED TO ASK IF MAYBE THEY COULD OF DAMAGE/RUINED MY POUCH FROM THE DIALATIONS I HAD BECAUSE OF THE STRICTURE AND THEN THE 3RD DIALATION RIPPING ME OPEN. COULD THEY HAVE STRETCHED ME TO MUCH WHERE ITS BIGGER IN THERE NOW. SO YES ASH IT IS NORMAL. BUT IT COULD ALSO HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH YOU BEING STRESSED AND UNDER PRESSURE RIGHT NOW HUN |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well i can't relate to the 4 month thing, but i can say that i am able to eat more as my day goes on then i am early in my day. Almost like the belly needs to warm up before it can eat... so that by late afternoon or evening i am able to consume more then what i can at breakfast. Quote:

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i dont think i have really felt much hunger as much as i have just wanted to eat from stress, it is hard, and it scares me that old habbits could come back, you are very strong for making it through everything so far just keep reminding yourself what your journey has been so far

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am more in the line with Kenya, I actually have to force myself to eat. I am afraid to eat a lot of different things because of one or two bad experiences. So I eat basically the same things every day and am never hungry. I see my doc this week though, so maybe he will have some suggestions for me to broaden my diet.

| Super Moderator | Well, your pouchies will have healed completely and starting to regain its full functions--becoming more efficient in moving along and digesting food around 4 or so months out, so it looks like you've hit that point. Even if you feel like you can eat a lot, I'm sure what you actually can eat is much much less than you were eating pre op, and you couldn't eat that much even if you tried to. Likely, if your tried any more than 3-4 oz at a time, it'll come back at ya. If you don't seem to get the full feeling, make sure you measure your food. If you do get the full feeling with less than 3-4 oz, then let that rule you. Nobody's pouch is the same, so you'll react differently. Some start feeling the hunger return after 3-4 mo when the healing's complete, while for others, it may take well over 6 mo, ever over a year. Eventually, even for those who have trouble eating now, you will start being able to cosume more types of food, and in a larger amount than beginning--but not in the old amounts. The one thing you need to be careful of, is getting into the grazing habit, and graze on low volume-high calorie stuff. One other thing, though, if you get a kind of gnawing hunger (not regular hunger) that eases when you say, drink milk, or eat something, there is possibility that you have developed an ulcer, as that kind of gnawing hunger is a typical ulcer symptom. ((((((HUGS)))))) Ashely, hang in there, I'm sure you'll do fine.
