Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI TAMMY!
I had my surgery June 1 2005!!!!
ANYWAY about your question....
you didnt say if your surgery is LAP or OPEN
which can matter with your healing time.
I found the pain to be managable with the pain
meds in hospitol but when home i dreaded takeing
crushed pain meds so i weened off real fast (made
me gag) and this was my surgeons protocal to crush
the pills. I did walk alot to help break up that gas pocket
pain which was proly the wrost. EACH day got better,
and i was back to my work in 12 days being its simple
work at that time and i was able to take a power nap
daily.
TOOK a good week to really not have that pain and ache
when i tried to lay down but it was bareable. GOOD LUCK
on your surgery and i look forward to many more posts
from you on the board.

Oooh, your date is less than a week away!!
(((((HUGS))))), I'll be keeping you in my prayers and thoughts.
As Lisa says, things are different for each person, but generally, it seems that pain/discomfort lasts for around 10days-2 wks. Of course, everything gets better daily. I think most people return to work about 4-6wks post op, depending on the surgeon, and the workplace, since most surgeons don't seem to want you to be lifting heavy things, and doing strenuous exercise and things like that for up to 6 wks post op.

I have met people here who are back to work within a week. It depends on the person and their pain tolerance for one. Also it would depend on the type of work you do. A sitting job might be able to handle sooner than one where you are on your feet all day. Good luck in your surgery. I will pray for you.

Hi Tammy,

I had my lap, may 11th, and I go back to work tomorrow. I work in a bank so i do not have to worry too much about lifting. I am doing very well, but itchy!!!!! Ewwwwww....
I had little over 3 weeks off, which I needed. But like Terri said it depends on you. You will know when you are ready. I might of took the liquid Tylenol 3 times after I come home. Just get up and walk, move around as much as possible, it realy does help.

Good luck to you, Keep us informed in your progress.
