Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | OK my only fears about going into this was that I would cheat and not loose the weight or something bad would happen during the surgery. So I lost almost half the blood in my body during the surgery and now I am sabotaging myself with food... already! Today I ate the toppings of breakfast pizza at work. It had cheese on it and I am not supposed to have that. Lunch was OK and I am drinking water, but then when I get back to work there is cake. So... a little slice of anglefood cake wont hurt right??? I am so mad at myself. I am all ready eating stuff I shouldn't and my body is letting me. HELP! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | dont be mad and dont beat yourself up. you recognize that it was "wrong" then half the battle is won!! at some point you will be able to have this stuff, but for now focus on what you need to be healthy. just think, everytime you cheat, you arent hurting anyone but yourself. its ok to fall off once in awhile, but you gotta get up and start fresh. hang in there. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | is that kind of thing of food not making you sick??? Higher fat foods and sugars make me ralph, so I avoid them like the plague... Regardless....we are all going to have moments of weakness....yes, I had a sliver of birthday cake at my grandmother's 90th b-day party (it didn't even cover the end of the fork...so more of a taste)...and yes, I've eaten the toppings off of pizza....but you know what...to deny ourselves completely, in my honest opinion, will make us cheat harder or overeat in the long run to compensate for what we feel we missed out on! (And I've still lost 70 pounds!!!) Move forward, stay aware and keep working the plan....!!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Don't be too hard on yourself -- we've had bad habits with food for a long time; it will take some time to break them. Although I'd be afraid to eat anything with sugar for fear of the dreaded dumping syndromn -- so be careful! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | We had our surgery at about the same time and we weighed about the same prior to surgery. I have been having trouble staying on track as well. I have terrible cravings for the foods I ate before surgery. I have eaten the topping off a slice of pizza a couple of times. It was mostly cheese, so at least it had some nutrition. Last night, I had a small bit of meatloaf and a tablespoon or so, of mashed potatoes. I felt guilty because people on here seem to have so much self control and only eat protein at least 99% of the time. Some people say they have avoided bread for over a year. How do you do it?? I crave a sandwiches, tacos, rolls, pastries, burritos, bread, even crackers. It is making me nuts. I even throw up sometimes after eating something new, but even the risk of that doesnt seem to slow me down. I have avoided sugar, for the most part, but its the carbs (bread, pasta) that get me. I too, am so afraid that I will sabotage myself. I wish the surgery could have taken away my cravings. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | well, the thing about bread is (for me) it doesnt sit well at all. which is all the more reason for me to stay away from it. the thing about the pouchy is that is has a mind of its own. so if you feel you can "cheat" today you may not be able to tolerate what you cheated with tomorrow. take it one day at a time. the restrictions arent forever. its just so that you dont hurt yourself while you are healing. one day at a time ladies. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Breads are not a good food for me either. I dont get them because I dont want them, but on occasion I do have toast. It seems to go down ok and stay well. Potatoes for me goes down well and makes me feel better. I dont do alot of them but when I feel bad..... i do a baked potato or a very small amount of mashed potatoes. I think through all of this if we just watch what we eat and the amount of it we will be ok. |
