Default Try'n 2 Shake Fears

Hello Everyone, I Have Not Been On The Board For About 2weeks Now.. Alot Of That Was Because Of Fear.. I Became Afraid And Backed Away When The Lady Died Havin Cosmetic Surgery..but In My Heart I Still Wanted To Go All The Way With Lap Rny....i Have Gained Weight Form Doin The Same Things I Was Use To. Which Was Eating To Comfort My Self.. I Love Coming To This Board To Get Support From The Members..

I Said That I Was Going To Pray More That The Lord Guide Me To Do What Is Right And Best For Me..the Last Time I Said That..when I Woke Up I Heard The News Of The Lady Pasting Due To Having Cosmetic Surgery (i Am A Very Emotional Person) So I Took That As A Sign That The Lord Didn't Want Me To Go Through With It..

Most People Said They Didn't Feel That Was A Sign From God.i Just Want To Stay Focus On The Prize..i Want This.. I Need To Get Back Healthy...

If There Is Any Advise Anyone Has To Help Me With My Nerves Please Offer It...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

well, my advice is feel what you feel it's normal to be afraid for many different reasons. going under, the changes that you will have to commit to, the way this will change your life forever; it's all very scarey for someone who has been doing things a certain way for a period of time. trust me we've all been there. but ultimately it is your decision. if you are uncomfortable with it, dont go thru with it. but if you truly believe that this will save your life, do what you have to to live.

there is no cut and dry "do it" or "dont do it". im sure we all wish we could tell you to do it and have the decision be made and have that be it. but it really is up to you. we support you whichever way you decide. that is the beauty of this place

Keep your focus on your health, and what you want of your life.
Keep in mind, whatever the media says, they will pick the subject up either for sensationalism, or to make something sensational out of nothing.
If you hear one "data" or another, always go back to the ORIGINAL data, the ORIGINAL report that was made public, you may be surprised how much of what is reported as positive results is taken up by the media and broadcast in a negative light.

When you are truly ready for the surgery, everything will fall into place of its own accord, and will feel good.

(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

When I saw my surgeon today, I had to fill out a questionnaire - one of the questions is "would you recommend WLS to another person" - my answer? I wouldnt tell them to do it and I wouldnt tell them not to do it. As stated before, just keep searching the information out there, talk to your doctors, go to some support group meetings and your decision will fall into place. It's quite natural to be nervous. Best Wishes!

awww its normal to be nervous pre op. MOST of us are and were.

I know for me i really balanced things in my head.
I knew ANY surgery, this one as well, came with risks.
I had 100 percent confidence in my surgeon of choice
and i also felt that walking around at 310 lbs i was equally
at risk to drop dead of a heart attack or have a stroke
at any time and for me that was equally as scary.
SO i had the surgery!
I came out with flying colors
lost my 143 lbs
and im happy!
MAY your storey have the same fabulous results
hugs

Motherly,
As for the lady passing away, I understand how you feel but I had to read more about what happened with her and realized she had other problems that should have been address before getting that surgery done. It scared the crap out of me, especially with my surgery being on Dec. 3rd. I have learned it's okay to be scared but for me I know this is the best thing for me and I have to put myself in Gods hands. I know through him I will be okay.

Well I had my moms support all along till the very end. During the process the only poeple who knew were my husband and my mom. Well once i got insurane acceptance my mom turned on me. She got nervous for me and it was a huge weight on my sholders. I however stuck to my guns and then I confided in my dad and he really supported me and told me I was a grown woman and I had to do what I thought was best for me. I did go thru with it in the end and I am so happy I did it. I am 97 pounds lighter and I feel so much better. I feel like I was a heart attack waiting to happen at any given moment and I feel like I fianlly took control of my life and Im on a new road and its a better one. Good luck with your decision.
