Default 5 day pouch test question

This test thing that Lisa has been doing/talking about, I was just curious........

What happens if I do it this early out? What will it hurt? Will it help?

Thanks for any advice.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks, Lisa. I have still been losing. I just thought I may have been eating a little too many carbs. I just wondered it if would help me get back on track like that. That's the only reason I was wondering. Thanks for your advice. You have done a terrific job and are such an inspiration.

Christy Do You Track What You Eat Everyday? Maybe You Think Your Eating Alot Of Carbs But I Bet Your Not. As Doc Said In Another Thread And I Dont Remember The Exact Number But We Shouldnt Have Less Than 130 Carbs And Thats Half Of What The Regular Person Eats. Of Course None Of Us Get Even Close To This Number So Dont Worry And If Your Still Losing Your Fine. You Need A Little Bit Of Carbs For Your Central Nervous System AND IF YOU DO CARBS DO THE HEALTHY ONES, LIKE FRUIT, GRAINS, ETC

Hey, Boots. Thanks for your reply. And, no, I'm eating no where near 130 carbs a day. I eat probably around 30 on a few days. Most of the time, I don't eat near that many. I just thought if we ate too many carbs, it would keep us stalled on our weight loss????

No one thing will keep you stalled. Not at the amount that you are actually able to eat, nothing will be too much. As a matter of fact, bad balance of nutrients will keep you stalled. That's why you need everything, even fats. The point is, you need to get in good carbs and good fats, as opposed to bad carbs and bad fats which are so rampant in processed food. Too low of something will stall you.
Lisa has carb issues, so she keeps her carb low, but even then, I think I remember her saying that it's at 100g or so (keep in mind she has passed her two year mark so is in maintenance) which is lower than the FDA recommended 130, but still, not too low. However, 30 is low.
BUT, since you are still relatively early out, you still need to concentrate on getting in the required amount of protein and liquids. The rest comes after that.
At your stage, stick to your surgeon's plan, no matter what. The humps and bumps you are experiencing is your body adjusting to the rapid weight loss, and trying to make the journey as healthy as possible. You didn't get to the point that you needed surgery in a few months, so it will take time for you to arrive at where it's healthy for you. I know you want your weight gone yesterday--everybody does-- but as with a lot of things, if it took time to build up, then it's safer to take time to get it off.

Doc, if it is not to much trouble could you write down what are the good carb & oils and the bad carbs and oils. I would like to print it out and keep it with my other records I have for eating. I have an idea of what foods but I sure would like a list just in case I missed a few.
Thank You

Complex carbs, those in whole grain stuff, not refined like white flour, are good carbs. Processed/refined food are not. The same with fat, natural fat included in food generally are not bad, processed fat for cooking etc are not good for you--think, the recent trans fat issue.
If you cook from scratch, you can't really go wrong, as you start out with fresh produce and meats, etc. With processed food, you don't really know what has been added to make the food tastey, so you can't be sure that they aren't bad for you. Even with the labels, you have no way of knowing whether the nutrients are natural ingredients of the original material, or were added for taste and/or texture.
As for a list, your nutritionist should be able to give you one.
