Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am now 6 weeks post op and am starting to worry about the fact that I can actually eat now. I mean I can eat a decent amount of food (6oz or) at a time and not get sick or feel very full. Is this normal?

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | hmmmmm that does sound like alot. But then again everyone is different. I was not able to eat that much at 6 weeks out. I am at just about 8 months post op and I can usually get maybe 1/2 cup to 3/4 a cup on good days. But like i said, everyone is different. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Yes That Is Alot But Like A New Me Said Everyone Is Different. At Your Stage I Was Lucky If I Could Hold Down A Few Bites. And Now Depending On What I Eat I Can Hold Down 1 oz - 3 oz On A Good Day. Just Make Sure Your Not Drinking And Eat At The Same Time |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | My surgeon started me with a 4 oz pouch so I probably was eating 6 oz at 6 weeks. I'm still about 6 oz so I wouldn't worry too much. Once you are eating meats you'll find you can't eat quite as much. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I agree with what everyone else says, I know I was able to eat a little more then most early out. I think we all worry that we are doing this wrong even when we arent |

| Super Moderator | If you really try to eat the way you ate pre op, you are going to get really really sick. Don't worry, your pouch is still healing and still adjusting. Just stick to your surgeon's plans, and you'll do very well. (((((HUGS))))))
