Thumbs up 2006 New Golden Era for Kuwaiti women

For the first time in Kuwaits history, year 2006 will be the 1st time for Kuwaiti woman to participate her political rights since Kuwait became an independent country on the wold map!

June 29th is the expected BIG DAY. It's the election day, time for all Kuwaitis to vote for the most qualified 50 Kuwaiti's (Men and Women) to join the Kuwait Assembly and become part of the ligesliture influence besides the government.

It'll be unforgetable date in this nations history. Kuwaiti women have been the most productive, and intelegent part of the population. Since the birth of Kuwait, women had never participated in the political life. Although the majority of the Kuwaiti's were with providing this right to the Kuwaiti woman but the old rules didn't state that right for her! Not untill just before the death of HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Sabah the last Sheikh of Kuwait, changed the Kuwaiti constitution to give the woman her legitimat right.

I cannot describe the overwhelming every Kuwaiti woman lives these days. They're like honeybees flying from one nominative campain to the other discussing and questioning their political views.

33 Kuwaiti women will nominate themselves for the election out of 380 nominatives. Regardless to their views there are the liberals, religious, ... from all different backgrounds.

I'm very thrilled and can't wait till that day to get gender equability balanced finally ever after in Kuwaits History.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

WOW....this is such an exciting time for you!!
I can't imagine what it was like in the USA when women finally had the right to vote...I can't even imagine not having that right ....since it was established August 26, 1920....my last living grandmother wasn't even born until 1924. So, it was est. 48 years before I was born!!

This is very very exciting for you Hanadi...will you take pictures on Poll Day...and share them with us here??? on this post?? We would love to share this time with you....even if it is virtual.

Love and excitement for YOU...and all the women of Kuwait!!

Congratulations on your suffrage, and electoral rights. This truely is a great day for you, as this means that you have gained full and responsible citizenship. It pains my heart that there are still countries in the world where our sisters do not have the right to full and responsible citizenship, which is everyone's right by birth.
Congratulations again, and may you all have the wisdom and courage to elect whosoever deserves the posts and will carry out their duties with dedication and generosity, and a heartfelt desire for peace throughout our spaceship Planet Earth.

Sure I will sweetheart. I used to be very active during my under graduate studying time at Kuwait University, I was a leader of a student group at that time hehehehe. Students were regardless to their gender had their rights to vote for the Student Union elections since 1960's the time KUniv got established. But the contrary in the political life! Huh!!!
It was a great contradiction and took it's time to get corrected.

I can't tell you how excited I am. My daughters and their next generations will be very proud of their grand mothers who voted for the first time and finally expressed their opnion loudly.

Hey Chuppy, I am so thrilled for you and the changes you are witnessing in your country. I hope that eventually more countries can experience this trend and that we can all eventually be an active participant in our local governments. It makes me sad to think of how many people here have the right to vote and choose not to. IF I didn't learn anything else from my Government teacher...it was the importance of voting and letting your voice be heard. Good luck with this amazing occasion.

Talking Watani el Kuwaita salemta lil majdi (Kuwait National Anthem)

Good morning Kuwait,

Today is the day that all Kuwaiti women have been waiting for a very long while. I don't think that my diseased grandma's would have imagined this day to come to their grand children!!

Voting will take place from 8:00AM to 8:00PM.
In my election area I have found one person that I liked his program and his intermediate views. And another female, that I partially liked her program but I'm planning to vote for her to give a chance for the Kuwaiti woman to have a clear heard voice at the Kuwaiti parliment.

Ladies around the world wish the Kuwaiti women a luck and pray for her that God gives her the insight to choose her and the next generations future
I'm very thrilled and exited, I'll go in couple of minutes to vote hehehe I don't believe what I'm typing!

Congratulations, Hanadi, so how was your first experience in voting? Were you excited? Did you cast your vote with fanfare, or did it go quietly and was over in a few minutes?
I hope the candidates you voted for wins!
