| I am back from surgery??tips please
HI all,
I just got out of the hospital this morning, my surgery was on tuesday. The surgery went well, although I was more uncomfortable than what I had anticipated. I am having a hard time gettin in food and fluids. The doctor suggested that I start my multivitams and supplements tommorrow. Will they upset my stomach?? I seem to always have nausea, will this settle down. I am open to any suggestions that will make my recovery period the most comfortable. Despite the nausea and the slight discomfort I am doing very well. I just wish getting in the fluids was easier.

It sounds normal to me. It is very hard at the beginning to get every thing in. Just do the best you can. Make sure you sip and take very very small bites. Try to get some sugarfree popsicles or fudgscicle they will help some. I also used those protein bullets and poured them over crushed ice and munched on them some to help get my protein in.
Just remember each day will get a little easier and a little better.

Congratulations on your surgery. Like others have already said, each day will get a little easier. Just be sure to sip, sip, sip.

Glad to hear your surgery went well. I remember feeling sick like that when I first had my surgery, but it will pass in time. I know you have to make yourself drink and eat and that can be hard sometime. Trust me, it does get so much better. Remember, sip, sip, sip and eat slowly. Welcome to the losing side.

I had alot of nausea for about a week after surgery, i couldnt hadle smells or anything, it was not good, but it will pass and when it does you will feel like a million bucks, it can be hard to get anything down when you feel this way, i did alot of chicken broth and water, very important to get enough fluids in. anyway, glad you are home and everything went well for you
