Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well, I dont know whats going on. it could be the anti depressants. i have no idea what else it could be but i am SO thirsty that i think i am losing my mind. i have tried ice chips, ice pops, water, sf beverages NOTHING soothes it. I drink almost 80 ozs of fluids a day and i feel it splashin around it my gutts. BUT i am so parched that my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. i dont want to stop taking the anti depressants because i feel GREAT, but dammit im thirsty. any ideas? |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i pee constantly. lol. i've been screened for diabetes bot pre-op (borderline) and post op (all clear) one of the side affects listed for the lexapro is "dry mouth" and to top it off my script was just doubled two weeks ago so im really leaning towards blaming it for this....but i guess i just need to push the fluids until my body adjusts....if its not one thing its something else. but at least i dont want to jump off the roof |

| Big Loser | Please do no jump off the roof, though now that you are so skinny, you would sure make less of a splat. ![]() Yeah, maybe you are just thirsty because...you are thirsty?!! I used to have these things I took for a dry mouth condition - not like mints or candy or anything, but like an "oral lubricant" to make mouth feel less dry. I didn't actually feel thirsty though, just dry. I'll try to see if I can find what they were. Drives me crazy when I can't remember something - so I'm crazy a lot, as I have the memory of a sieve - but it was some kind of something, not pectin I don't think, but something like that. Anyway, I'll see if I can find it. |

| Super Moderator | Sounds like the Lexapro is the culprit. Have you discussed this with the dr who gave you the script? He may have something that will help you.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | i go back on the 19th to follow up. i planned to disucss it then. it isnt bad enough to stop taking it. i just hope it isnt more than a dry mouth. like i cant get dehydrated from it, can i? i just thought maybe i could head it off.... |

| Super Moderator | No, you won't get dehydrated, don't worry. You can wait till your follow up to ask.
