Unhappy Question

As yall have heard me moan now for almost 5 weeks I have been nauseated, vomiting etc. Doc I suppose this is a good question for you. How long can i go on like this????

As I told yall before my surgeon left the country for 3 weeks and left no back up. I seen his partner and she told me straight up she wasnt and couldnt do nothing for me. My PCP has been tending me now since the third week of this. I have had shots...... so many different meds to either stop the nausea or make the foods go through better. If and I say If I am getting in 200 calories per day and (I dont count them) Im doing great. There may be one day per week were I feel ok but I will tell ya im getting so weak from all this. Nausea from the time I wake up and throwing up 3-4 times per day is taking its toll on my body not just my mind.

My brother come over a couple nights ago and not knowing what was going on said..... are you supposed to have them big dark circles under your eyes? I swear it seems like all I have done recently is complained. I have had the flu a couple times in my life but this is not it. I eat a little only because I figure the hour it might stay down some type of nutriets are getting into me. I drink water all day long sipping it. Thank goodness im not working right now because I litterally couldnt. I see my surgeon on Monday thank GOD !

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Ms. Vickie,
I went through the same problems. I felt miserable and weak. So much n/v and lots of dry heaves. Had to be hospitalized two times. I just had to find things I could tolerate. Had to forget about protein etc....and just would do things that I could tolerate. Went though lactaid cottage cheese, v-8 juice phases ......It was very hard......I had my surgery in May and started having problems end of june.....Finally I am feeling almost better------eating small amounts but getting better.......Hang in there.......try to find things that your pouch will accept.

as long as your able to hold something down once in a while i would say just hang in there and find the things you tolerate and stick to them. if you can't hold down anything, including liquids, then i would be concerned that maybe you had something else going on....

(((((HUGS))))) Hang in there, MsVickie.
If you were here (keep in mind, our system is somewhat different from yours) in your condition, I would admit you in the hostpital whether you like it or not, and set you up for IV daily for 1500ml or more, with a lot of nutrients thrown in (which, as you know, means keep your line 24/7) until someone who can diagnose you and treat you properly can be snagged. If you resist to a hospital stay, I would set you up for a central IV line, send you home with bags of IV fluids to last you several days so you(since you are a nurse) yourself can change it, or have a nurse visit you daily to take care of it.
In your state, no matter how mus you seem to be getting fluids in, you definately are dehydrated, and the baggy eyes are indication of that.

[VENT]Quite honestly, sheesh, your surgeon is letting you hang on a thin line, no matter how well meaning he is, and his partner should do something other than tell you to hang in there, since she's a gastroentrologist, she should know someone who can do an endoscopy on you so there's a diagnosis on hand that your surgeon can atart with, and be prepared to do the dilation as soon as he comes back, or if it isn't a stricture, then be ready to look for other causes. [/VENT]
