Default wanna share with my sistahs.

Okay, so when I didn't lose any last week but regained two pounds I really wasn't worried about it, but I started to think about how Lisa had said that when you don't lose lbs you lose inches so I decided to take a little field trip. I dragged my hubby and daughter to Sears to try on clothes. I went to the same section I have been shopping in for years in order to find a pair of 16 pants to try on when I realized that I would have to go to a different section to find them.....the "normal" section...dooom dooom dooom.....I found a pair of 16's just like my pair of 18 capris and took them with me to the lady's fitting room. It took some tucking and sucking, but they did zip. I will not be buying them right away, but was excited nonetheless. I also tried on an extra large tank top and found out that it fit....again not to the point of flattering, but fit. I bought the tank and it is hanging in my closet as motivation. I love my hubby for allowing me these hairbrained moments...lol. This is truly amazing to me to think that in a couple of weeks I will no longer be shopping for plus size or as my friend puts it "jumbo petite". This has renewed my motivation and I am trucking forward. Just thought I would share this huge step with all my sistahs...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Great to hear that Janae. I'm looking forward this moment too!! As I may said in other post that I have a full range of sizes. I'm in the 24/22 at top and bottom 26/24 I hate it when I'm in the middle between 2 sizes!!!
I tired the shoes, I read that many have smaller shoe size after they've lost weight but hmmm :/ I still wear the same size 40!
although in the Birkenstock (germany shoes) I wore 39! hehehhe

Red face

I'm resisting the temptation to go to try on clothes....I don't know why..but I don't like being "in between" sizes...and I'm afraid that I'm not in a 22/24 yet. I've worn a 26/28 for soooo long....I don't want to risk it.

ALTHOUGH, my 26 capri's are really falling off...and wait till you all see my 8wk. picture updates....it shocked me to see the butt of my CWC jeans SAGGING!!! LOL....but, I'm still not brave enough to go and try on other clothes...

Esp. when we have no $$ for new ones...I'm still going to pin and stitch my oldies...and try to make it to the next size in my closet.

OH...I haven't weighed in a couple of days...and am feeling like....what if I gain? Whenever I'm on roadtrip Vacations I gain.....

I did BRING the scale...just haven't retreived it from the car....yep, I know I'm OBSESSIVE....I know what you all are gonna say...I measure my success on the scale...and I need to NOT do that. I tried to not weigh for a week at a time like Janae and Hanadi...but, couldn't do it!! I'm soooo BAD!!~

ohhh that is so cool. glad to know that that little try on trip helped you out pillows. keep up the good work.

when i get to that point of not losing weight but losing inches will somebody please remind me ? thanks. i know you will.

i imagine i will be like you femme, with the snip and stitch, i do plan on making some simple house dresses that i can adjust as the losing goes on. however i imagine that the two thrift shops here will be getting alot of business from me also. i think you can find second hand clothing stores just about anywhere femme, if the urge to go shopping hits you that might be an idea.

i haven't had the surgery yet but i know that i didn't go get weighed last week or this week cause i ate a few things that i was afraid put pounds on. i want to go get weighed but am afraid that my weight will be up instead of down. however i won't know unless i go so...... probably go next week when i can go and roo is at work and nobody will know unless i lose, then i'll be shouting to everybody i lost, otherwise i'll just keep my mouth shut and try to refrain from the carbs.and fatty foods.

keep up the good work guys, can't wait to see before and afters.

AWWW debra...
I was a daily weigh for most of my entire first year.
ITs only now that its not moveing and upsetting me
that i have cut down.
I feel i need to weight in often.
See the losses
i never want to loose control of the numbers
again and i feel never looking was a factor
in that. We are all different ...and if you need
to weight often then you do!
FOR me though when it stalled it was effecting
my moods so i had to stop now that im in a okay
range of numbers
all the best and how cool to hear about your capris
falling down....

Ill never forget when i was looseing weight 17 years back
before my wedding. I did well did the nutri system thing.
I was in the office sending a fax...and i didnt relize till an
project manager came by and said i was slipping...and then i look
down around my ankles was my slip!
HOW embarassing!
thats when i finally went shopping for more clothes
PLZ be sure you dont have that happen
publically!
LOL
all the best
lisa

What a funny story! I did NutriSystem, too, like I've already shared, and felt very empowered when I lost 50#. I still feel guilty when the NutriSystem commercial comes on, knowing that I gained it all back and much more. I had my gallbladder sonogram and EGD done this week and both went fine. My appt with my primary care doctor was Monday and we talked about WLS. As I thought, she would prefer I lose weight in a less "drastic way". She said since I've lost weight several times before, it proves that I can do it. To me, that's just more reason to have the surgery. Yes, I can lose it sometimes, but it comes right back. Anyway, she said she would write a letter or sign one I wrote to submit for insurance approval. I wrote it myself this morning and stopped by her office. She read it through and signed it, so it's in the mail to my surgeon to put with my other papers to send to insurance. I'll go to the nutrition class next week, then everything should be completed. I'm hoping for surgery within the next 2 months. Excited and nervous!

I have been going to a shop where they have free clothes and getting stuff there until I lose enough to want to shop for clothes I will be keeping for awhile. I can't afford to buy new with every size change. I am in a 14 now and may be picking some things up soon as I think I may be stopping a lot of loss for now. I have lost 122 pounds in almost 11 months and I would be fine to stay here. No more size 26's ever for me.
