Make sure first whether it's a self test or a visit to the ob/gyn.
If it turns out positive, then you need extra care during pregnancy, but you can have a baby.
A word of warning about birth control during the rapid losing stage. I have written about this countless times on this board, and I do believe all bariatric surgeons warn their patients too. Hormonal brith control-- in other words, pills, patches, whatever that dependes on the hormones to control ovulation-- will be ineffective because of the enormous amounts of estrogen that is released durin the rapid losing stage. This also will make you EXTREMELY fertile. During this time, you need to use PHYSICAL methods for birth control--IUD, condoms, surgery, whatever.
In your case, since pills have strong side effects for you anyway, you need to talk with your ob/gyn and discuss what is best for you.
