Ok so here is the deal. I was on birth control for a long time. However, the last full month I was on it was the month before surgery and it almost killed me. I have high BP to begin with but the pill completely threw it out of wack. Anyway in a panic they took me off of it and decided to retry it once the surgery was over. WEll I did and they took me off of it again. I thought at that point I had ovulated, but now Im not too sure. So now Im 4 days late (which isnt anything) but Im nauseus like crazy in the morning. Im terrified to take a test. Is there any research on this, I mean could I have a healthy pregnancy so early out if I am pregnant?

Any info would be such a help ladies! (and gents)

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Someone else on here just found out that they were pregnant and they were not too far out either. I think think Doc suggested that they make sure they find an OB GYN that is experienced in WLS patients. I am sure that it is not the ideal situation, but you are not the first one this has happened to. But first things first, get your butt to a pharmacy and get a pregnancy test so you know whether to start fretting or not. If you are 4 days late, a test should be accurate. Now, get in your car and go!! LOL

Make sure first whether it's a self test or a visit to the ob/gyn.
If it turns out positive, then you need extra care during pregnancy, but you can have a baby.

A word of warning about birth control during the rapid losing stage. I have written about this countless times on this board, and I do believe all bariatric surgeons warn their patients too.

Hormonal brith control-- in other words, pills, patches, whatever that dependes on the hormones to control ovulation-- will be ineffective because of the enormous amounts of estrogen that is released durin the rapid losing stage. This also will make you EXTREMELY fertile.
During this time, you need to use PHYSICAL methods for birth control--IUD, condoms, surgery, whatever.

In your case, since pills have strong side effects for you anyway, you need to talk with your ob/gyn and discuss what is best for you.
((((HUGS))))

i agree with kenyar...better to take the test and find out rather than worry if there is nothing to worry about...good luck!
