Default Why Is This Time Any Different?

I Have Seen And Heard Of Post Op Years Down The Line Gaining Some Or Alot Of The Weight Back. Of Course We Might Have A 10 Or 20 Weight Gain But Im Talking More Than That.

In The Past I Have Been On Diets And Lose Lots Of Weight And Then Thru The Years Gain It Back And More. Why Is This Time Any Different Esp If Our Appetites Come Back. Thats Alot Of What Ruled Us Before, Our Appetites. Im Just Afraid Once My Appeitite Is In Full Force There Will Be No Stopping.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

look at it this way, before you just went on a crash diet, lost a bunch of weight and then when you finished dieting you gained it back. this time, while you were losing you learned HOW to eat right and how your body responds to exercise etc. this way when your appetite comes back you know what to eat and how much. you have tons more knowledge now than you did before, and tool in place that will never let you eat as much crap as you did before. you will succeed edie. believe in yourself.

Edie, I would think that becuase our stomachs are so much smaller that it would be impossible toi eat enoiugh to gain very much, especially if we continue to make good choices. Also our intestines are 100cm shorter, so we do not absorb all the calories that we eat. In my case, after being put on Prednisone, I started eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's a day......yes, one pint a day!! I will never allow myself to get into that habit again, no matter how depressed I get!! I never had a weight problem until then. I also can not take Prednisone anymore because of the pouch, so that will not be a either. Mind you, my joints are killing me and I would love a handful of Motrin!!

A Few Years Ago I Went On A Diet Where I Ate Right So Its Not Like I Went Into This Post Op Life Not Knowing What I Should Be Eating In Life. I Always Knew From Educating Myself What I Should Be Eating But Just Never Did It. The Reason I Would Gain My Weight Back Is Because The Appetite Would Just Take Control Of Me Like A Monster And I Would Just Eat Anything In Site Whether It Was Bad For Me Or Not. One Thing I Did Learn In This Post Op Life Is That Proteins Can Be Very Filling So When A Need For A Snack Sneaks Up On Me I Know That Protein Will Be My Friend. But Im Still Really Nervous About The Future

i get that way too. bottomless pit, remeber? BUT think about it, cant eat anywhere near how much you used to. at most you will probably be able to eat 1 1/2 cups of food tops a year or two from now. and even then if you do all cookies or chips or whatever you'll dump. believe in the controls that you have in place. i think if anyone will have long term success it will be you. we all worry about the future but you cant think about 5 years from now. get thru tonight and then tomorrow and then so on. and when you feel overwhelmed or like you are going nuts, that what your support is here for. we all feel the same way. we've all failed and lost and failed and lost. and we will all keep eachother on track. even if i have to hop on the ferry to tape your mouth shut because you are eating too much, i will and if i fall off the wagon you need to do the same for me we all have eachother to lean on for the rest of our lives (hopefully)

I agree with Kenya, we all have these fears, especially since we've all lost and gained weight back again and again. But we need to put into action all that we want for ourselves--eating right, taking our vitamins, getting all our protein in, and exercising. I know we have failed so often that we might think this is unattainable for us but now we are becoming someone NEW, with a new tool to use. Just as we change our eatting we must also get rid of the negatives in our head. You can do it, I know you can. That's what so great about this site, we give each other the support we need.
I'm here for you sweetie--and I'm betting on your success!!

Talking

Awww hun....
Worry about the future when it gets here.....

There is NO WAY you will eat like before.
Even if you got ravenous, over time, you would not likely gain more then 10 to even 40 lbs--- and that is RARE to gain as high as the 40.

BUT even if you did, (and you won't) you will still be MUCH thinner then before

But that won't happen anyway. You are different now. your habits are different.

I have seen you Edie, i know how you eat, weigh etc. You have GOOD habits now. you will not go backwards.

Even if you binge, your stomache will not allow it too much or too often. AND you have US to help you through it....
i love you my sister!!
