i am so upset. love(d) the truck. went to the cottage on Sat. got to show my new toy off to my uncles and aunts and parents. proud owner (I was). Did a back road tour at the cottage with my mom sunday morning, she can get into the truck easier than the car because although the seat is higher than in dad's car the floor of the truck isn't too much higher. (had my first road kill by the way, which i feel terrible about. taking a sharp turn a turtle suprised me in the middle of the road and i couldn't swerve because of oncoming car and safety rail on other side. can you say CRUNCH? I feel so bad about that one, but i did swerve for the kamakazie chipmonk who decided to dart in front of me). So as you can guess something went wrong. got in the truck last night to come home from the cottage and do some groceries and it konked out as i was backing up. i tried to get it going, Roo tried to get it going, my two uncles tried to get it going and the guy from CAA tried to get it going. No such luck. Turns out that the starter needs to be replaced. CAA brought the truck to our garage and Dad had to take us home from the cottage. I am so disappointed. Well, talked to the guy at the garage this morning and we decided to have the radiator replaced as well, at the same time. So now i'm truckless until Wed. Thursday at the latest. Kinda bummed but still excited. Once the starter and rad are fixed it should be smooth sailing. So i'll keep you informed. (sorry no pics yet, mom left her camera at home so it'll probably have to wait till next week.)

Awww. (((((((HUGS))))))) Poor car, poor turtle... I had the starter conk out on me with the car I had before the one I have now. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons I got talked into (by the salesman) a new car was because I sometimes had trouble getting the car started, and when I had it checked, the starter was at fault. A couple of days before the new car came my old one conked out completely, so the car dealer had to lend me one of theirs for a few days until they could hand me my new one. I figure the old car was a bit peeved about being traded in. The thing is, only a few days ago, the maker of the said car announced a recall of several of their lines manufactured around the time mine was, because of defective starter motors (nope, not Mazda) but for some reason, not my model.

Oh Doc i'm glad your new one wasn't recalled, that always sucks yes friend the splenda cake was this weekend. Nobody noticed any difference, or at least said anything. when i told them later that that's what i had done nobody believed me. they were all shocked that their was no difference in taste or appearance. we had a great weekend at the cottage. Roo and i were the first two to go swimming this year. it was sooooooooooooooo hot on Sunday. but the water was freezing so we didn't stay in there for long. Polar Bear club we are not ready for. hehe talked to the guy at the garage today and he said that since it was something that we had mentioned when we brought the truck to him the first time but he hadn't checked it because of no problems we would get a discount on the fee to replace our starter.

Free, if you lived closer to us, my husband would have probably given you a discount on labor to replace your starter/radiator....He was a mechanic for seven years prior to being enlisted and still enjoys the occasional easy job on the side. Sorry about the turtle, and hope your truck gets fixed asap. Janae

thanks pillows (your husband to) we should have the truck back by friday June 30th which will be great because in Canada the holiday is July 1st. ok i know this is gonna sound cruel but it's kinda funny. I told Roo last night that i can still hear the turtle's shell crack and then i said "oh, tutle wax for the truck" ok don't mean to be cruel but sometimes i deal with things by making or trying to see the lighter side of things. still do feel bad about the turtle though.

Get this i haven't asked my parents for any money towards the truck, first because i thought they would say no and second because i am trying to be more self reliant (part of my new healthy lifestyle), so yesterday on the way in to Ottawa to see my dr. i was telling my dad that we might not have the truck for the July 1st weekend because of the way disability and Roo's pay check falls, because the garage man won't buy the part to fix it without the money in his hand because he has been screwed around that way before and he asked how much the part cost, we can pay the labour when we pick the truck up, and so i told him and he offered to lend me the money on monday if the guy could fix it buy then. So yeah! We talked to the mechanic and he said that would be fine and he will also do the e-test for us by then so we can take the truck to the cottage with us Sat. morning. I'm sooooo excited again happy dance, shake that booty!
