So, my daughter came home last night after spending Christmas with her dad...she met me in the hall and told me I looked like an alien!!! I asked her why...and she said, "mom...you're getting really skinny and it's weird!!!" I wasn't sure if that was a compliment or what? |

Kathy, I'm sure she meant it as a compliment. You are doing great. How could it not have been a compliment? My daughter went to get clothes out the dryer the other day and asked my DH if these were really mama's jeans? She said they looked so little and that I was getting skinny. Like Sherry said in her post, she has always known me as being very big, but she sees the new changes in me and she likes it. She came to me and told me what she had told my DH about the jeans and she said that she just wanted to tell me that she was very proud of me. That makes it all worth it! She is my angel!

Mine is 20 and she tells me that I look "funny" all the time....in fact she doesnt' like it,(jokingly),she tells me I was heavy all her life and now I changed on her. She is not being nasty or careless,she just cant really believe it....my oldest son also says "your are fading away", that is a compliment too. Yesterday at my moms' my sister just out and said "look how skinny u are", I could only say thank-you,I havent really figures out how to respond yet.......Take it all with a smile. Happy New Year.
