| Feeling Guilty
I don't know what the deal is..... I have eaten 9 hershey kisses throughout the day today at work. I feel so guilty. I don't want to be able to eat this kind of stuff.
I feel like I have really let myself down.

Don't beat yourself us. Nothing is a mistake if you learn from it. So if you decide that today was treat day and you over did it make better choices for the next week. I think this will be the key for me for long term weight loss. In the past if I blew a diet and had a hamburger and fries for lunch I would think, what the heck I may as well have a big plate of lasagna for dinner. The key is to pick your self up, move on and not be too hard on yourself. Beating yourself up will only encourage your bad eating. Think of all of the good you have done over that last few months. Remeber you are strong not weak.

Hey don't beat yourself up over a few kisses!!
There will be things that you can still eat.... but think this way--- you ONLY had 9 right? Before WLS you might have had the whole bag.... this tool is to help us to EAT and not be a slave to food--- but to enjoy it- whatever it may be without the guilt.
So if you want something---eat it... as long as it don't make you sick and you don't over do it. Don't make it a habit. But once in a while (and it is holiday time) won;t hurt.
I have had a good 10 cookies over the last few weeks... Before i would have had them in a few minutes!! lol
we all still have "bad" stuff that we eat. We just eat less of it and choose the more healthier foods 99% of the time.
So relax and glad it did not make you sick--- and hope you enjoyed it

It is like the rest of the people say do not worry if you blow it one time and like they say, pick yourself up the next day and try again to be on the right track. I think your body needs a change once in a while and I think it tricks the body. When we went to my parents for christmas I took my own sugar free candy along. I just cannot give up my candy and there are alot of different kinds of sugar free candies. Yes they are higher in carbs and I try to get the ones with less carb. But I only eat 2 or 3 candies and once in a blue blue moon I will eat 4, but that is rare. My sister had made a new kind of fudge and I just had to taste it, but I got a little spoon and just took about a 1/4 teaspoon of the fudge just to taste. It was so yummy and I just told myself that I have my candies if I want anymore candy. If I did not have my sugarfree candies I would probably binge on candy. My husband is a big sweet eater. I cannot watch him and not have any at all. So it is my sweets that I make for me or the sugarfree candies. I do not have them everyday but I do have them on hand when I have the craving and it works for me. I have made low carb cookies and loved them before surgery and my husband is starting to eat them. My pouch is a little touchy with them yet and need to give my pouchy time yet for the cookies, now the homemade protein bars are a good treat for me when I crave sweets also.
Two months out of my surgery I was so hungry for graham crackers and cream and splenda. Well I had about 5 crackers and about a little over a quarter cup of cream and splenda and it was sooo good going down and pouchy liked it at the beginning, but about 3 hours later my pouchy got real mad at me and then I was up all night and an uncomfortabe tummy. Have not tried it since but I know I will try it again down the road if I get a craving for it. But I will not make a habit of the bad things becasue that will get me right back to where I was before surgery and I will not let that ever happen again. I have my family and friends and this family on here that will keep me straight.

Uh-huh. 9 kisses throught the day. That means one kiss at a time, spaced apart, right? So, pre op, would you have stopped with one kiss each time?
Dust your hands off, tomorrow is another day.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. And, no, the candies are no longer at my desk. I threw them in the garbage yesterday. Today is a new day and I'm doing much better. I love all of the support we give each other on here.
