Cool too much of a good thing

do you find that when a certain food "works" you eat it until you cant stand it anymore? i think i am doing this with salad. i was never really a fan of salad, but for some reason it just tastes SO GOOD now. of course i have chicken with it or sometimes a spoonful or two fo tuna, but WOW i love salad. i could eat it at all 3 meals per day.

i guess my question is, i should be using this as a "filler" right" not as the meal itself? because salad is essentially worthless to us? is lettuce a "free food"? by that i mean, can i eat as much as i can stand of it or should it be meaured as well?

all thoughts/ opinions wlecome!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

From what I was told Kenya from my NUT that it is a filler and not the meal. My NUT just told me that if I am going to eat salads and nothing else to make sure I add some type of meat to it. So I guess you are doing okay with it. I understand about finding something you really like and then eating and eating it. I did that with mashed potatoes. Really wasn't into it at first but once they told me I could have some it became my best friend and now I don't want to look at another potato....lol

I did this with yogurt, and now I wont even look at it in the grocery store! But I would think that if you are getting your protein in with the salads then why not??

I have actually shyed away from salad...the lettuce alone fills me up...and I miss salads!!! I am, however, just about sick of GRILLED chicken...it's been the one thing that sits VERY well on pouchy...but I feel like if I eat any more of it, you will have to pluck me soon!!!

I Eat Salad Like Its Going Out Of Syle And Still Not Sick Of It. I Add Alot Of Protein Items To It. I Add Chicken And Cheese And Somtimes A Few Nuts To Make One Intersting Salad Like You Get In Restaurants. As Long You Add Your Protein To It Then It Shouldnt Be A Problem.

I want a salad so bad, but every time I try to eat it, it does not sit well. But as for getting stuck on stuff that works - I ate tuna like every day for months and cottage cheese. It is so hard to eat either now.

Kenya, I crave salads too. I eat them all the time, but I just make sure that I add some protein to it, like you're doing.

I am tired of the cream of chicken soup, yogurt and pudding!!! I go for my 2 week check up tomorrow and my diet will change. Yeah! Looking forward to cottage cheese and maybe some creamed potatoes. Any other tasty ideas for the pureed stage of the diet?????

I have been stuck on protein pudding since 1 month out - I haven't had any raw veggies or salad since surgery until this week - I had a bite of tomato without any skin. I am hoping to be cleared for salad in a week - they told us 4-6 months out before trying it but I haven't had any problems with any food but I see the surgeon on the 22nd and I look forward to a nice salad or at least a bite lol.
