Happy New Year Everybody !

Can you believe it....1 week !!!! WOW !! Its been a real trip this past week,I got to tell ya ! I started my 2 week liquid diet the day after Christmas. The stuff the Surgeon gave me to drink is called Optifast. It comes in 2 flavors Chocalite and Vanilla . Have any of you ladies ever fed your children baby formula ? Remember the distinct smell it had. Well its the exact same smell. 1st thing I said was OMG !!! LOL I cant believe the mood swings Im having , not having any solid food . But Im doing it ! The hardest part was when my 21 yr old son came home and he bought some Burger King home with him ! LOL...I swear I could smell it before he even came threw the door ! Does anybody else notice that there sence of smell improves or am I the only one that really noticed ? Tomorrow (friday jan 4 ) I have to go to the hospital for my pre op . Then I have to go to another dr tomorrow and hes just going to make sure my BP is going to be Ok during the operation . Then only 5 days after that Im operation bound...Lord I cant tell you how excited I am !!!!
I know Im long winded here but I got to tell you all this ! The fri before Christmas I saw my nutritionist. (She works in the same office as my sergion ) Shes pretty pleased about my wieghtloss and shes happy about my attitude about everything! She asked me what I thought about everything so far and I told her ...except for the long waiting period , I thought everything was good . She then told me that my waiting time was pretty fast compaired to alot of WLS patients they have because alot of people dont have a serious attitude about it. They dont lose any weight before hand ,so the Dr doesnt schedule them till they do loose wieght ! They have people there that have been coming back 2-3 years still waitng ! I havnt updated my weight scale yet...Ill do it tomorrow after I weigh in at the hospital...but so far I lost more than 10% !
So I thought I would update you all...I should be on a couple more times before next Thursday ! Thanks everybody if I forget to say it before hand for just being here with me. You ladies are the Best !! ((( Group Hug )))

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Yep Jerry its here ! WOW! Yes on the food smelling before it even hits the door. I was in IUC and my hubby decided to bring his his lunch one day. I looked over and said honey please dont eat that in front of me. A hour after he left one of the nurses come in to check me and said " I smell hambugers" and looked at me funny and looked at the trash can. It was just empty paper but she could smell it and I cannot tell you what it did to me. LOL. Those protein shakes we are supposed to drink after dont smell much better Jerry. I drink mine which is tolerable however I make sure I dont smell it.

Im so happy for you. You have spent a long road to get this done and your weight loss is great. You have done as they asked you to do. I got you spot ready and dusted off and waiting!

Congrads on your upcoming surgery date, it will be here before you know it. I had no problem with the protein drinks before sugery. I did not care for the vanilla but I liked the chocolate and strawberry. So my daughter who had gastric bypass dec. 15, 2006, told me to use some sugar free rootbeer soda and add it to my vanilla protein shake and it tasted so much better, almost like a rootbeer float. This is for the liquid diet before the surgery. After my surgery I got so sick on the after surgery protein shakes from the hospitol and then they told me to try my own protein powders and they worked for me but not the hospitols after surgery.
So congrads again on you upcoming surgery and you will be in my prayers for a safe & speedy recovery and see you on the losers side of the bench.
