Default Strange Result from fasting

I am soooooooo frustrated! I did a 5 day fast and gained 4 lbs. How the 'f' do I get rid of THAT weight and WHY would it happen that way??? I drank LOADS of water during that time--so shouldn't be retaining any from dehydration.

???
HELP!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

That is odd. But I have been told our bodies do strange things if they think we are starving. Maybe the loss will show up soon.

I'm curious why you chose to fast. When I don't eat enough by body def hangs onto anything it can, not eating enough is counter productive. Also, if our bodies arent getting the nutrition they need it can cause some nasty problems. Be careful!!!

i would believe your body is holding on because it thought it was starving. once you start eating again, you should drop it. why the fast?

I LOVE to do a cleansing fast, usually of a week, after the holidays. I've always DROPPED 4- 5 lbs before!!!

I asked my son, who is a personal fitness trainer (working on an Engineering Degree), about this today: if you're in a coma, or stranded on an Island and there's no food--you literally starve and lose weight. BUT if you're walking around in life doing the same thing, you gain or maintain your weight. WHY?

He thought it was a horrible question because weight loss in the unconscious person is literally muscle atrophy. But HE said he thought some of the issue for nice middle class ladies who fast occasionally is that food is available and we KNOW it. So the body just waits--via some psycho-physiological process. I.E. he thinks it's partly in my mind what controls what's going on w/my body.

Bleh.

Awww.
But, your son gave you a good A. If you go to extremes, and have fasted before, then your body is used to this, and so will just wait out until you start eating again. Probably retaining all the water you got in, too.
Go back to your normal progarm, and see what happens.
