Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | THis is a question for all , i have done some research and know if a few traditional ways of building up your immune system but i was wondering from Doc if there are any secerete Japanese suppliments or things you do to help you with you immune systems in Japan. I know to some it may not seem like much but since sept i have had 2 stomach bugs and this strep infection that have kicked my butt. My home is not one that regularly gets sick and the kids have been sick a little more often then usual. I have worked with sick kids most of my career and never caught things as easily as this past year. Wanted to know if there was anything i can do to avoid this in the near future..... Thanks ahead of time... ![]() |

| Super Moderator | Probably, your weight loss has compromised you over the short term. I imagine, as the years go by, things will settle down. Now, Japanese traditional stuff? Hmm....supplement-wise, I don't really know. Well, I think green tea has some good effects. Other than that, when it comes to traditional ways, it's basically physical, like wading into the sea in mid-winter, or training outside in bare feet in mid winter or doing cold rubs with dry towels outside, again in mid-winter. A lot of our traditional martial arts like Judo and Karate and Kendo often do these cold trainings mid winter. Training in the cold seems to build up your resistance and immune system. Now, medically, it is known that regular exercise will increase your NK--natural killer--cells and increase your resistance and strengthen your immune system. (((((HUGS))))) I hope you're feeling better today.

| Super Moderator | I know you don't like the cold, so as I was typing, I did think that that might be part of the problem for you. Staying warm inside robs your body of the chance to build up resistance. On another note, I noticed when I started exercising 3 times a week at least, that I rarely caught colds. If you exercise in the cold, for one, you will feel warmer in the cold, and the exercise itself will help in increasing your resistance. That's probably how the cold training of the marital arts work.

| Super Moderator | Tylenol whatever is basically safe. Other than that, ask your surgeon for a list of OTC that he considers okay. There are some meds that surgeons have different opinions on, so it's best to consult your surgeon and go by his list.
