| How great is this? As you know I am getting close and have been having some anxiety issues. And sometimes things just come your way to put things into perspective. I don't know if it's God or my sister or grandmother who are passed on. But I really felt yesterday like this woman was just sent to me.
My little one had a swim meet yesterday, which are very hard for me sometimes because some of the pools dont have handicap access and with me needing a hip I use a cane and steps are very hard.
And this place was one of them, but they had a top balcony but it was glass enclosed and with her only being six in a strange school I was damned if I was going to let her down there. This is her first year and she is kinda nervous and I didn't want that to impede her swimming. So anyway I went and took the long trek down the steps and across the pool and up the stairs too the top of the bleachers. And after about an hour this woman sits down next to me (her husband is a timer and her boy is a swimmer for the other team.)Now these ladies that are mothers of the other team are the best I have met yet. They just love the kids like I do and never feel like its our pool type thing. They just talked and talked to me while we waited for our kids to swim and we yelled for them all, it was very nice. So now jump ahead a few hours and the woman next to me and I started talking intently and I had streached my leg when one woman moved cause I was soooo stiff and the bleachers are so hard. And she said something about her knee then she said well before my bypass surgery I had a lot of problems with my knee.. And I just looked at her and told her I was getting ready for mine and come to find that she is almost five years out and she looks fantastic. And so healthy and happy. And we talked for the next two hours about the surgery and how hers went and how things went for her and some little secrets cause she had problems after like our poor boots and she was on liquids for months. But in the end when we left and it was over I felt so much better.. Like a weight was lifted off me.. I know talking here with your girls is great.. It really is but to sit with someone for hours and have such an open conversation and in the end I helped her as well. She has been having problems with lumps in her breast and terrible discharge from her nipples and her dr keeps telling her not to worry about it. And I told her about my breast cancer operations last year and sent her to my oncologist. Gave her the info anyway. And she was so happy to talk with someone about this that we also had in common. It was like a God send for both of us. And I was so happy that I could return the favor for her that she did for me. I am sorry this is sooo long but I wanted to share with you girls. And I still today feel so much more focused for this surgery and ready. So who ever did this for me I want to send them my love and thanks for her and I...

This is a wonderful pre op WOW.
And yes, it helps so much to talk to a *real* person about surgery.
I'm very glad you got the opportunity, and it surely sounds Heaven sent.
