I was bored so I thought I would write something down about my best friend. Well we are going to town on Wed. and my best friend invited my husband and me for dinner. So she asked what I can eat and I asked her what does she have and she said I am suppose to tell her what I want. She will fix whatever I want and I said I have no idea what I am hungry for and then she said how about meatballs and gravy and I said that is perfect. Then she said how about potatoes and I said that is ok that my husband will like that. She said how about me and I told her if I only eat about 1 or 2 tablespoons of potatoes and she said peas and I told her maybe only about a teaspoon or so. Then she said that sure is not much food for me to eat and I told her that is all the room I have in my pouch. I told her I am lucky if I get 3 or 4 meatballs down and she just could not comprehend the small amount of food that I can only eat. Well she knows that I cannot eat any desert, but she is going to get something sweet for my husband becasue she knows my husband likes sweets. Before my surgery, even though my daughter had the surgery, I could not comprehend how little I would be able to eat until I was in those shoes. My daughter always told me, you will know once I have the surgery.

It is amazing isn't it? What is funny to me now I sometimes 'feel' like i've eaten 'huge' amounts and then will look at my plate and realize I've eaten maybe 1/3 cup of food total..lol.

It is really hard early on, even later for some, for family and friends. They worry about how we can possibly stay healthy,etc..

How wonderful though that your friend is trying to make sure you'll be able to eat with everyone! {{hugs}}
