Thumbs up MRI Results

A while back i started experiencing numbness in my left foot which ended up traveling up the leg to the knee. I had weakness in the ankle and was unable to perform some minor physical tests in the dr's office. the first dr i saw told me it was damage from crossing my leg. when it didnt go away i became somewhat nervous. i saw another dr in the practice on my follow up visit. he took blood work and sent me for an mri of my back . bloodwork came back perfect which i was happy about but nervous about the mri. as it turns out, i had a herniated disk. THANK GOD IT ISNT A NEUROLOGICAL SIDE EFFECT. i kept this to myself because i didnt want to scare anyone on here. but everything is good. i went for the second mri last wednesday and it is no longer herniated. does that make any sense? how does it just slip back in there??? oh well. glad it's not what i thought it was. but now i wonder if this means this can happen again?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Glad to hear that everything turned out well for you. I suppose that if they can herinate out and then go back in that maybe in is weak, I would ask the dr if it is possible to come back out again. Maybe if you take it easy for a while it will heal the area, just a guess.

Wow, glad everything slipped right where it should be. Does that mean that the numbness went away too?

Did you get any instructions on exercise/PT? That, and your losing more weight and the pressure easing on your spines probably did the job. When the space between the vertabrae--the bones-- decrease because of pressure, the disk is pushed out, so when the pressure eases and the space gets wider, the disk will slip back in.

he didnt say to limit anything or that i needed to "do" anything else unless the complete numbness comes back; which in retrospect, sounds fishy. does that sound right? wait til it comes back??? im lost. i was preparing for the worst thinking it was some kind of deficiency. i have NO CLUE about back injuries....

Well, the disk could slip back out with heavy lifting/extreme sports, things that can strain your back, so be careful there. This doesn't mean that you can't do anything that involves these kind of activities. What this means is that you need to build up the muscles that support your back carefully, and make it strong. If you are going to the gym, tell your trainer about your back, and have him/her set up for you some exercises and weights that will help you there.

ohhhhh I'm sorry that you had this scary experience!

But I'm so glad that everything turns alright although it's a weird story though! hmmm maybe the Doc is right, have you done any strong physical movement that showed the disk issue at your first MRI? was becoz you've moved to your new place?

Numbness is an ugly feeling I have them on my right hand fingers and they are no fun!
but getting that into your leg becoz you cross the legs hehehe this is funny how could that happen?! for my entire life I wasn't able to cross my legs and now with losing weight I can't uncross them even in the bed (unlucky DH! hehehe) I'm crazy this morning I don't know what was in my morning coffee?!!!

Stay healthy girl, you need strong foot for your new x-mas treadmill!
