| Not Feeling To Well
OK I FINALLY SAW THE DOC TODAY BECAUSE THE COLD I HAVE HAD SINCE THE HOLIDAYS HAS NOT GONE AWAY AND HAS EVEN TURNED INTO A SINUS INFECTION WHERE MY FACE, EYES, JAW AND TEETH HURT REAL BAD AND WHEN I SPEAK I SOUND SOOOOOOOOOOO NASAL.
SO THE DOC GAVE ME ANTIBIOTICS AND A NASAL SPRAY. SO I TOOK THE ANTIBOTICS WITH FOOD AND THANK GOD NO TUMMY ACHE AND THEN I TOOK THE NASAL SPRAY. YUK I TASTED IT IN MY MOUTH AND I ALMOST WANTED TO PUKE AND THEN I STARTED FEELING A BIT DRUGGED UP AND DROWSY (which is stated as a side effect). BUT ITS HARD FOR ME TO IMAGINE THAT IT CAN HAVE THIS MUCH OF AN EFFECT ON ME. COULD IT BE BECAUSE WE ARE LIGHT WEIGHTS.

thats a good question. i have yet to be medicated post op. i wonder how we tolerate this stuff. i would assume the nansal spray makes you feel woosey because of how it is absorped, directly thru your blood vessels?? i cant wait to see what doc says about this.

So sorry to hear that this has not passed, hope you are feeling better soon it sucks to be sick. I would say that the absorption is different for us now and drugs affect us differently I suppose.

Well I Knew Drugs Would Have This Affect On Us But I Didnt Expect It In Nasal Spray Or To This Extreme.
So Far This Is The First Time I Used It And It Is Working A Bit. I Still Feel A Little Pressure But Not As Bad

Nasal sprays will act faster because it's absorbed directly from the nasal membrane into the blood stream. As a matter of fact, that's probably one of the reasons your dr prescribed it--because it will avoid your pouch.
However, because it's absorbed directly, the concentration will go up higher in a short time, too, so the effect may come out strongly.
And yes, your weight loss will affect you as well, because as you lose weight, you need less blood in your system, and so the same amount of meds will be concentrated in a lower volume--thus a higher dose in the blood stream as a result.
So, it's a combination.
Next time, when you are prescribed something, ask your dr if it's okay to try half the dose at first, and then, increase the dosage if the effect isn't enough. You need to confirm with your dr, because some meds, you need an absolute amount with some meds.
(((((HUGS))))) Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Sinus infections are the worst. You feel miserable all over. My family has had an unusual amount of sinus infections this year. There must be a nasty bug out there spreading it's cheer. I hope you feel better soon. If all else fails, try to enjoy the woosiness. |
