This is related to my weight loss only in the sense that I don't feel like cleaning up everyone else's yucky food/dishes. Here's the problem. I asked my husband to make dinner for him and my daughter tonight.

He made big honkin' railroad tie french fries dipped in batter, WITH GRAVY. THAT was dinner!!! I had to offer my daughter lentils and carrots from last night which I had been gonna make into a soup.

Now, my husband's supposed to have been washing dishes all night. Well it's 1:20 the next morning. Instead of do what he's supposed to, he managed to set the sink and kitchen curtain on fire. Then he was scrubbing the smoke stain, decided to wash some windows and hang a new curtain. Nice, but meanwhile the whole mess from dinner is still there

WHAT IS THAT? Lately he cannot stay on one task, breaks everything in sight, and takes hours to do the simplest thing (which I LET him cause he aint gettin' out of it THAT east).

This is my Dear Hubby who is usually such a doll, so helpful., etc., etc.

Help

Mya

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Mya,if I may say so, are you sure he isn't ill?
If his present behavior is waaaay out of his regular realm, then that's the first thing that comes to my mind, and the cause can be physical or mental.

Ya know, I can get my husband to change a light bulb since my surgery. What's up with that. My kitchen is dark, now I have to go do it tonight. I don't know what to tell you other than did you handle everything before? How often do you ask him to make dinner? Certainly don't expect him to read your mind, my husband still makes carbs and starch. Give him another chance but this time ask him to make stuff carb free, that's what I do. He comes from the square meal upbringing, meat, carb and veggie, I ask him to cook without carbs when I'm eating what they're eating. It's hard to get them on your plan but they adjust eventually. If they don't , dont let him off the hook. Work with him, if he blows you off, then get mad.

I am sorry but I got quite the chuckle reading your post, however I do feel for you. It sounds like a short story of really unfortunate events.

Doc you are right!!! My hubby and I BOTH suffer from depression and are BOTH not feeling great right now. He is usually ALWAYS the cook. He's a chef/ That's his 'thing'. We both take Lexapro. It's just I'm so tired of him screwing things up, breaking them, spilling them--and then being 'too angry' to clean up. I tried leaving one of his 'accidents' right where it was, but there it still sat 3 days later. So I try to be understanding and help out. Meanwhile I don't feel well myself. I feel like he's just plain passive-aggressive with the food thing, so he can see if I say anything negative--then get angry about me 'always criticizing him'. I don't know. I guess it's just a bad time. I'll be glad when winter is over. VT winters contribute greatly to our depression!

What ever is going on there it sounds like you guys need to get a handle on things before it gets worse, Perhaps he is having issues and he isn't even sure why. The hardest thing with most men is that getting them to talk is like pulling teeth. So what ever happens never stop talking, sometimes you hit the nail on the head and didn't even know you were aiming for it, you know... I hope things get better for you guys.

P.S. Winter makes me just not myself either. Even if my thyroid numbers are ok I still have that winter blues.

Okay, so everybody's different, and I can certainly see you had a stressful night. I basically gave up on this idea of my DH helping me do most anything. It was totally not worth the aggravation of getting him to do stuff, and it's almost like they want to fail so we just say nevermind, I'll do it. So, here's our deal (works at my house, not necessarily recommended for yours) I have my stuff, mostly anything inside. He has his stuff, mostly anything outside. If something he needs to do or does is not up to my satisfaction, I am welcome to do it myself. If something I do needs to be done or redone to his satisfaction, he is welcome to do it himself. Our rules - no fussing, no whining. We also have separate checkbooks ~ and I think separate sinks are a huge blessing too. Hey, how about a trip to a caribbean island or even a Florida beach?

Good Luck!
