| What have we all lost besides weight?
Yeah, so we all post our start, current and goal weights, and pictures to show that we're making progress. These are wonderful things, and I'm as proud of the story they tell about me as anyone here. But what else have we lost? Are there any benefits you have realized as a result of your WLS journey that don't show up on a scale or camera?
As a for instance, my cholesterol is down about 100 points, and the ratio is a whole lot better than it was. Historically, my cholesterol has been as high as 400. Now it's 115. In recorded history it's NEVER been below 190! My BP is where it was in high school (back in the '60s!). My triglycerides, which have been as high as 1,600 (yes, the comma is in the right place!) are negligible.
I have been taken off two long-term maintenance meds. I also seem to have lost touch with my sleep apnea and can now sleep through the night without using my CPAP.
This is all in the last five months. And it doesn't even start to cover the increased energy and feeling of good health I experience daily.
Anyone else have a success story to share?

| What I've lost?
I have surgery in 13 days, but so far I have lost:
1. 50 lbs
2. a few "friends"
3. Being walked all over because I dodn't advocate for myself
4. An emotionally unhealthy job for a carreer advancement, better paying less stressful job.
5. Two clothing sizes
6. Four feet of clothing from the closet--too big
7. Walking baby steps down the stairs!
8. My old bike--4 year old huffy! Gained a new fancy bike.
9. Poor self esteem
Hope to lose after surgery:
1. Any friends who do not support my healthy life style--I've already accomplished this!!!
2. CPAP machine--or need for it
3. High BP meds
Hope to Gain:
1. More self confidence--especially in dating.
2. Clothes from the resale shop without going to the big gals store--Yes that's the name!
3. Energy
4. Continued growth in my emotional / spiritual life.
Thanks for the place to speak!

sleep apnea, high cholesterol, snoring and talking in my sleep, asthma, joint pains, killer acid reflux and problems swallowing that my doc could not figure out. My butt, boobs, a couple shoe sizes. I no longer let people walk all over me either. my need to shop in plus sizes. my ability to be "invisible" to guys, which is kinda weird, but nice too.
