In my office at work, under a racing shock absorber, R/C model car chassis, and some old test papers and course schedules, one would find a small fridge. It's stocked with water and other goodies, such as Jello SF puddings, string cheese sticks, and occasionally a container of leftovers from a restaurant. Also a bottle of that lifesaver, Tabasco sauce.
In the bottom drawer of my right file cabinet, beside the fridge, one would find a supply of flavor sticks for the water bottles, single-serving cans of chilli, ham & bean soup, beef stew, tuna, sardines (to each their own, eh?) and so forth.
In a desk drawer are a can opener, plastic forks and spoons, and some paper plates (microwaveable), not to mention salt & pepper.
As a professor, it is possible to keep a regular lunch hour, if one is willing to ignore the students. As a result, sometimes I don't have time to plan a midday meal and I just shove my chair over to the corner, grab something, and it keeps me alive until more stable arrangements for nourishment can be made.
If you have the means to do so, be a squirrel and stash some food where it'll do the most good for you.
