In my office at work, under a racing shock absorber, R/C model car chassis, and some old test papers and course schedules, one would find a small fridge. It's stocked with water and other goodies, such as Jello SF puddings, string cheese sticks, and occasionally a container of leftovers from a restaurant. Also a bottle of that lifesaver, Tabasco sauce.

In the bottom drawer of my right file cabinet, beside the fridge, one would find a supply of flavor sticks for the water bottles, single-serving cans of chilli, ham & bean soup, beef stew, tuna, sardines (to each their own, eh?) and so forth.

In a desk drawer are a can opener, plastic forks and spoons, and some paper plates (microwaveable), not to mention salt & pepper.

As a professor, it is possible to keep a regular lunch hour, if one is willing to ignore the students. As a result, sometimes I don't have time to plan a midday meal and I just shove my chair over to the corner, grab something, and it keeps me alive until more stable arrangements for nourishment can be made.

If you have the means to do so, be a squirrel and stash some food where it'll do the most good for you.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I was a gossler before surgery and once I had the surgery I used a sippe cup for a long time. It tought me to take small swallows and take time drinking.
For when we are on the run, we have these in the pickup cubby hole at all times, protein bars, extend crackers, wheat sticks, and for the sweet tooth, a pkg. of sugarfree candy. Every once in a while I take along a can of protein pudding.
When we are invited out for supper at people's homes I always take something along for me to eat, just in case they have food that I cannot eat. So far I have never had to pull out my food from my purse to eat, always been something that I can eat.
At my folks house I always leave a can or two of protein pudding, boy did they come in handy when I needed some protein between meals.
Excercise gets much easier as you lose weight. Oh my gosh, is working in my garden easy this year compared to so many years of getting tired so fast. I have tried to cultavate(looks like a little tiller) my garden but hubby and kids always ended up doing it for me becasue I got so tired just doing a few yards, well now I can go until I run the tiller out of gas. That is a long time.
Now with me I like to drink water very cold, I actually put water bottles in the freezer and take one out and let it melt slowly and keep drinking it when it is ice cold and sometimes when the water is gone and just ice in the bottle, I will fill it up with water so that gets cold as well, oh is this refreshing to me. Winter like summer.
I have learned to chew my food slowly and enjoy what I am eating without gulping my food like before.

I had to remember to take a snack bar or something to work at first, I am a school bus driver and had 3 hours b4 I could have a meal. Also as Kim said Exercise.....just do it.... easier said than done. Also had a rough time in bed, I still use my6 body pillow when I lay on my left side.

•Knowing when/what to eat
•Exercising
•Being plain exhausted
•Getting in all of my water
•Getting in all of my protein
•Being comfortable when sleeping

It sure seems like a long time ago when I was in this phase but it was only a few months ago. Amazing.

Thanks for sharing, everybody! My big day is a week away, and it really helps to know what those of you on the loser's bench (I just love that term!) faced during the early weeks and months.
